Does anybody in Daegu know of the best bicycle shop in Daegu where I can buy parts, gear, and get a full gear tune-up?

I've tweaked my gears to about 90%, but it's not good enough. I have a little ride coming up, and I need to be squared away.

I need to buy new rubbers, brake pads, a non-friction light, oils, and get new batteries for my CATEYE. I will also need them to calibrate it as I don't have the booklet anymore. I might also be ready to change my pedal bearings, but I don't know.

Soooo, any opinions out there as to the best shop or combination of shops? And if so.....directions maybe? Confused

There is a top rate shop I know of, but it might be far from your area.
It's in Soosung-Gu, Beomeo Dong, across the street from Children's Park.

Specifically, there is a 3 way 'T' intersection at Children's Park.
The park is at the top of the 'T'.
There is a Mr. Pizza on one side of the 'stem', and the bike shop is on the other side of the 'stem'. It's next to an electronics superstore.
I believe it's just called 'Bike Stop'. They can probably handle anything.

I'm a hundred kilometers from Daegu. EVERYTHING is in my area. Unfortunately, you are talking about places I don't know about. Can you point me from a major landmark?

Actually, I though it WAS a major landmark.
The nearest major intersections would be Hwang-Geum Negari.
It is between Beomeo Negari, and Hwang-Geum Negari.

Taxi:
Tell the driver:
'Uh-ri-nee Gong-won, Ah-Peh-Roh, Mis-tuh Pee-jja', then walk from Mr. Pizza.

Look on the lower right area of this map. You'll see a green hill with some dude in orange holding binoculars. That is Children's Park.
You can see the 'T' intersection to the west. The shop is on the south side of the intersection.
Dongdaegu station, by the way, is on the same street as the park... follow the street north.

I will be going into Buk Bu bus station, and riding from there. I found my map here this morning and compared it to the online map from 'the eye' (thank you very much), and it makes sense now.

Buk-Bu bus station to Soosung-gu is a hefty ride!
The place near Kyungpook U, that chronic suggested would be easier.

It's ok. My afternoon ride today was 50 or so km. Yesterday about 65. With a good road bike, it's amazing how far one can go in a day...

Ok, back from Daegu.
I ended up going to 자전거백화점. See the attached pictures.
It is a small shop, but quite good. A lot of gear packed in there. The owner sells low to high end bikes. I saw a bunch of price tags for "Specialized" brand bikes up to 4,500,000.
he sells a little of everything. Riding gear for serious distance and racers. His selection of timing gear was a little limited though. He was able to sort out and recalibrate my CatEye for me.
He had my size tire (apparently a special size), in a couple of different styles. I went with ultra slim racing slicks with no tread.
I also had him change my brake pads, tune up my gear system, straighten my wheels with a spoke tool, and regrease/oil everything. he also reset my handlebars as they were a little loose.
He is or was a serious rider himself, and he turned my bike out very quickly. Really knows his way around. No guessing. The right twist the first time every time. At the end, he gave me a price, and then took about 10% off the whole thing. He also threw in a stretchy racers cap.

Glad it worked out. And glad that it was actually where Naver said it would be, for a change.

Nice to see how deftly you avoided your reflection in any of the chrome or windows. Cool

PS. Re: the card, I already have his details from his Naver profile, so I can put those up in the future article, unless the business card has other stuff worth noting.
