Just curious to see what the average is.
On a scale of 1 - 10 with one being dog droppings and 10 being God how would you rank your boss...? And why...?
I'd put my boss at a solid 9. Still not so far into this contract but they've so far been very honest, very friendly, very generous and haven't tried to screw me once....There's still 8 months of ample opportunities though.

The stats are looking impressive so far. Something like an average of 4.

So far he's cool. I gave him an 8.

He speaks good English. (ex-teacher...that really helps)

He appreciates my age (same as his) and experience and lets me get on with the teaching without any nonsense.

He's been helpful in getting me settled into my apartment.

He took me on trust and has waived that dodgy 600,000 won security deposit.

He's not running the most organized ship in the navy but then how many Korean directors do!!

It gets a little annoying, but its nice because she yells at me through the Korean teachers, who nicely tell me whats wrong.

The bosss has given me an unrequested pay rise.

However
She fails to take responsbilty for any of her actions
She doesn't communicate at all with the waygook teachers
And I think she is a little insane.

7...he is a bit two-faced. He treats the foreigners like gold but I know behind the scenes what he thinks. However, the communication thing is an issue and he is still a bit old fashioned.

Uhhhhh....the principal? He's useless. He can't speak English, he doesn't give me the time of day, and he thinks that I suck as a teacher because my students aren't winning province-wide awards.

Now, my actual liason with the school, she's cool. I'll give her an 8, because she tries really hard, doesn't expect a whole hell of a lot out of me, and lets me get away with little stuff.

I just came back from a great lunch with my boss. She's great, I would say, from my experience of way too many years in the working world, she is a twelve.

She works way harder than she expects of anyone else. She is always accessable and open-minded. And she gives the benefit of the doubt to even the most dubious teacher.

She also teaches her own classes and has extremely high standards, for herself and the rest of us.

She's just the best. 1A definite twelve.

Mine's a 9/10.
Good English.
Likes to chat and have interesting conversations about all sorts of stuff.
Similar sense of humor.
Has lived in my country for a year and loved it.
Doesn't get on my case about stupid stuff.
Lets me know my assets in the Korean job market and gives hints about how to go about getting a job at a higher level in my chosen field.
Gives good feedback when merited.
No dramas.
