Let's just go with American box office
The question is: which will be the top 3 summer blockbusters this year?
My picks:
1. Transformers. EVERY guy who grew up with the show will go and see this movie.
2. Spiderman 3.
3. Ocean's Thirteen |

In no particular order:
Spider-man 3
Pirates of the Carribean
Transformers (I can't believe I'm saying that, but the trailer is amazing!)
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
(Sorry, had to do four.) |

Most of the summer blockbusters, including all of the ones mentioned so far, are going to be pretty bad.
I hate how most of them are sequels or tied in to previous movies somehow. Where's the originality?
My top 3 (all sequels, ha ha):
1) 28 Weeks Later. A sequel, but I like the idea. They've kept the director of 28 Days Later on, albeit in a different role, so hopefully it will be loyal to the first.
2) The Bourne Ultimatum. The best franchise going at the moment.
3) Evan Almighty. Love Steve Carell.
My bottom 3 (hmm, all sequels too):
1) Ocean's 13. Ocean's 11 was bad. Ocean's 12 was woeful. An excellent example of how big names do not make a good movie.
2) Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. It's absolutely criminal that with so many good scripts out there, the studios decide to make rubbish like this.
3) Spiderman 3. Again, the first two were terrible, why make a third? How does anyone over the age of 12 sit through these? |

Sorry OP, I just reread your post and realised that maybe you meant the top grossing movies of summer 2007, not the movies you think will be the best.
In that case, you're probably right.
My apologies. |

Yes, this is strictly about the box-office
I do agree about the Bourne franchise, depending on how the next Batman is made, it probably the best franchise going. The best franchise since the Lethal Weapon franchise. |

My vote is for Bourne Ultimatum. Great franchise. And more realistic than Bond. |

I'm very surprised nobody's mentioned
Live Free of Die Hard AKA Die Hard 4.0
As for the Bourne franchise they are good movies on a stand alone basis but when compared to the books the movies aren't even close. In fact, completely different stories. Amazing how Hollywood would bastardize such excellent books although the later books aren't as good as the first few.Different authors... |
