ok, that was fun.
Russel Crowe, George Clooney, Kevin Richardson and (carmy you might know this one, a South African - I had to look him up) Christiaan Barnard.
According to that I should be getting laid way more than I am.
That collage sooo went on myspace...I think I faired well, for short guy with a drooling problem... |

It's true, Kimchistory, you do look a bit like Clooney.
I dunno about that website though...I did it again with another picture and this time it said I was a mix of Aidan Quinn, John Kerry, and post-op Michael Jackson. WTF? I so don't look like MJ. |

That's hilarious - I saved the search thinking, there's no way I'm gonna risk that again.
I think they did well on yours with Steve McQueen - and Tom Waits must not be in the system, or he woulda been in there - that's spooky, I hadn't thought about it, but you do look like him. You got the new album? |

LOL, the only Christiaan Barnard I am aware of was the SA doctor who performed the first ever heart transplant.
I also get different celebs depending on my profile...apparently from the right side I look like J Lo
But always a bunch of Asian chicks too.
Jada Pinkett Smith and Eva Mendes also come up using different pics.
Told ya it was fun if you got nothing better to do |

My highest were Kylie Minogue, Debra Messing, and Julia Roberts.
Riiiight.
But in real life, I've been told I look like Michelle Branch on numerous occasions. |

Yeah that's the one - hey, good looks and brains, too.
It was fun, but SPete having MJ turn up and Kermo getting Regis Philbin confirm for me that I can't deal with the potential heartbreak of a second run at it. Prolly get Jason Alexander, and that might be too much for my ego...
You were right, good times. Thanks for that. |

| Some guy on EBS. This year I had some more new students come up and ask if I was the EBS guy. Yes, that's right, little Minwhae. Every morning I make the EBS broadcast in Seoul and then race down here to Kangnam in my private jet helicopter to teach you. |

From what I can tell, the matching critera does a good job with matching "head position" and even "general expression" but there are so many subtleties to the human face that the program is an exercise in futility.
Take, for instance, this magazine I bought last week.
These are politicians, musicians, actors, businessmen whom I've never met, yet I recognize them using less than half of their faces. Incredible.
There's a specific part of the brain that deals in recognizing faces, which may explain why after parting with a houseplant for a month, I can no longer even pick it out of an array of plants, despite the fact that it's been sitting around the house for a year. |

So, are you saying I should stop telling my students to bow in my presence 'cuz I'm Russel Crowe, George Clooney and Christiaan Barnard all roled up in one?
I knew that bubble had to burst sometime...I was getting tired of explaining the whole 'first heart transplant' thing, anyway. |

A large part of the brain (relatively speaking) is dedicated to face recognition. During human evolution, it was very important to recognise faces so as to distinguish friends, foes, and people you know but don't yet trust.
I've been told by many Koreans, including my xgf, that I look just like Colin Farrell.
I can live with that. |

I'm half-Asian (& half-white), so I don't really look like anybody famous, except maybe Brandon Lee (the son of Bruce Lee, who's also Asian/white). If I look like any celebrity, I guess Colin Farrell is as close as any. When I tell my friends and family members back home about it, they're like, "Welllllll ... I guess so. Yeah, sort of ..." |
