I tried to do a search on this but it didn't work very well.
I was wondering if I can buy travellers cheques at my local bank or do I have to go to the currency exchange?
Also, what's the story with them? What sort of charges are placed on them?
So, I can just go into any bank in any country and they'll exchange it?
Do I have to get the cheque written in US$ or the local currency?
Thanks (in advance) |

some banks around town have them. Best bet though is the Woori Bank in the basement at ICN, they have AMEX T/Cs which everybody accepts |

I asked KEB bank if they can sell international travelers checks and they said, Yes. I asked, because they refused to issue international ATM card. Heck, on any international trip, I would still buy travelers checks and cash currency just to be sure I had the money to get from point A to point Z. |
