I don't think Putin is too happy about having American interceptor missiles right next to his border.

"The United States is currently in talks to deploy 10 interceptor missiles in Poland and a radar installation in the Czech Republic by 2012 at a cost of $3.5 billion.

A U.S. official traveling with Gates made clear that Washington would push forward with the project regardless of Russia's response.

"These plans cannot help but cause concern, because if used in combat, the missiles' trajectories would be in the immediate vicinity of Russia's borders," he said, Interfax reported.

He said Russia would not accept the U.S. offer to cooperate on the missile shield, because in the long term the system is planned to become global, thereby undermining Russia's strategic deterrence capability.

Couldn't Russia just become a NATO member, too, and then they could all start pointing their shit at China?

Nuclear missiles? The ABM system isn't nuclear. Where do you get the idea the US is installing nuclear missiles?

Your original title was "nuclear missiles". I'm happy you've seen fit to correct it. And you're welcome for me spotting your silly error.

Who gives a sh*t what Russia thinks anymore. They can't even afford to fly their own aircraft. In fact, I remember reading that some outfit in Alabama or wherever had the only active flying squadron of Mig-Hind helicopters.

Russia's old hat. China is the new Dr. EVIL and we will eventually need to smack her down. Hard.

That they supply a large % of Western Europe's energy needs I guess makes them worthy of a listen.
