| I think the Democrats not only should back the measure by Kucinich but also they ought to nominate Kucinich to run in the general election. Even Romney would wipe the floor with Kucinich in the general election. |

Contestant: What is a perfect example of hypocrisy and stupidity for acting as if voting the opposite of another person means anything other than you think your choice is right and any other choice is, by definition, the wrong choice?
Alex: Correct! |

EFLTrainer derailing his own thread...
This is actually an interesting event. I think party Democrats will flee this motion and it won't get anywhere, however. |

Indeed, it won't.
Doesn't that disgust you? I can think of no legitimate reason not to impeach. As they say, it's the journey. The investigation is the valuable part. Whether they have time to finish is irrelevant.
Another reason: the neo-con machine is not a shallow-rooted movement of five guys. It is a deeply-rooted attempt to change the nature of the US and the world. Just winning the next elections will do little but to delay the next round of usurpations. A deep investigation followed by accountability is NEEDED. It is not a political issue. It is one of survival. |

| You are naively rallying around a politician's election-year grandstanding as if you actually expected tangible results to come from this...Funny. |

You're a lying piece of shit, so who listens to you? You call the actions of one of the few people standing on principle on Capitol Hill a grandstander?
Every time you post on my actions you look more and more like you've got mental issues. You claim I expect tangible issues: lie. I have posted on my expectations this very day. I have posted throughout this debate, from months and months back, as to my reasoning. Why lie? Why can you not post about me without lying? Why can you not post in response to me ON TOPIC?? You seem to be emotionally unable to maintain coherent thought when you see a post by me.
Do you think straw men mean something to intelligent posters, or are you seeking only the FoxNews crowd? When you lie all the time, is it hard to find reality when you need it? |

It doesn't digust me. A lot about Washington and Congress disgust me, but not this decision.
When the GOP became a majority in '94 in Congress, soon thereafter they launched a campaign to terminate Clinton's term in office. They saw a non-political moral flaw of President Clinton and decided to exploit it. That was wrong.
Here, the opposite is happening. Bush and Cheney certainly have flaws which are political in nature, and directly involved with how they run the country. The new Democratic majority has decided not to terminate Bush's term because of expediency. Nancy has said, "Bush is not worth it." It means here the effort and damage to the nation that a full impeachment trial might bring. The nation is involved in two wars and is in a transition to a full Democratic majority gov't, very likely with a Democratic candidate finding him/herself as President. It is not expedient nor is it good for the Democrats to indict Cheney, even though it might be just. |

And, that, as they say, is that. And that is wrong. I care not a whit for the whether it's good for the Dems. This is about what is good for America. Notice I have not one time argued against any of the potential issues. Not once. They are obvious. Why state the obvious? What I have stated over and over is that there are greater issues at hand. What needs to be heard is that the intangible issues ARE the issue: How other nations see the US; who is running the country, us, or the political parties and PACs?; whether we are perceived as legitimate standard bearers for the rule of law, for democracy, for freedom...
If the Congress and the people do nothing, that is exactly what they will get in the end. |
