Thinking about returning to Korea for another year. Can anyone tell me if Jeju is worth consideration? What's the nightlife like? Things to do etc. The teaching side of things doesn't really bother me.
Cheers. |

There's quite a few threads on this...several in the last month or so.
I'd fill you in but there's a lot to say (rambling, likely) without more specific questions...also, I'm ignorant of Jeju's worthiness vis-a-vis mainland Korea. I would be happy to compare to various parts of North America, Mexico City or Tokyo.
Essentially, it's a nice place but it's no paradise, which makes it pretty much like the rest of Korea from what I'm told. It's scenic and laid-back. The lack of pollution is nice. Summer's quite nice. The foreigner community is small but concentrated and very socially tight-knit, in my opinion. PM me if you care to. cheers |

Mmm I sacked Jeju and like the Danes liked it so decided to stay and Rule There and like Britain I established my rule by the sword errr round sword with a ball point mmm I worte English on blank slates with cruel force crushing their culture and attempts to speak out in their own tongue.
It was nice... but not good if you do not take advantage of the beach/sea/hikes/ ummm and of course take advantage of the pigs... how many pigs died for me? How many bushes had their leaves torn from them for my greedy pleasure? I don't know but the destruction lies untold in some sink hole...
mmm u can try the yahoo groups on jeju.. rhymes with jeju
or my links below as I was Lord prince of Jeju... |
