You can do your own homework with brands, but quality ones are probably worth the extra. Aside from capacity, there's data speed to consider. Good quality cards will feed the data to your camara/pmp/pc so much faster, which is good for transfers and high bit rate files streamed from the SD.
IIRC the speed is sometimes stated as X* where X is a multiple of 1x compact disc speed (about 150KB a second.) |

I use Transcend flash memory, so does one of my friends and neither of us have had any problems. I have a CF, SD and micro SD. |

I've used Kingston, Memorex, Sandisk, and Transcend. All but memorex have been really good to me.
Since its a high capacity card, I would recommend getting the fastest speed you can get your hands on. Probably 150X I think. The faster read/write times on the card will definitely be noticed when you are copying stuff to and from your PMP.
Just look for a SD card that is fast (Around 150X). As for the size, its up to you. The 8GB cards will go down in price so its up to you whether you want to drop that amount of cash on it now, just to see it for half the price in 6 months. |

While 8GB is great, the 4GB cards are like a 3rd of the cost (losing a 4GB card feels less painful).

Just wondering but wouldn't two 4gb be better than 1 8gb esp if 1 4gb is a 1/3 the cost. which means 2 4gb are 2/3 the cost of one 8gb (i am pretty sure that makes sense too many numbers in that sentence).
also by having two cards if one fails or is lost you only lose half the data. |
