I'm in the process of shopping a new RPG/action game to a major video game developer entitled "Waygook's Quest." The game's main hero/character will be a young waygook ESL guy sent to Korea with a mission to teach English. When he arrives, he witnesses first hand the injustices that befall the waygook community in the Empire of Korea. His quest therefore is to recruit a party and garner support from the downtrodden waygook population and defeat the Xenophobic Korean empire. Along the way he will befriend and recruit various waygook warriors to aid him in this task. Possible allies to be included in this game will be Dev, Alyssa, and Venus. His enemies will include, Immigration Agents, Drunk Xenophobic Ajosshis, C***blocking Korean guys, the Hagwon Owners Elite Special Forces Unit (HOESFU) the Ajumma Army, and Waygook Spies and Saboteurs (AKA Apologists). I haven't compiled a proper boss list but Demi and TheUrbanMyth will be mid game bosses with Homer being an end of the game main boss. For the final boss I am toying with the idea of Tangun rising from his 5000 year slumber to finally lay waste to the waygook population....with only our hero and his waygook party to finally defeat him and put an end to xenophobia and mistreatment of waygooks.
Items and weapons I haven't really put together...but Imported beer and cigarettes shall restore the waygooks health while Hite, OB, Cass and O-Daeng shall act as poisons.
Possible weapons might include: Let's Go Series Textbooks. Armor will be: Sandals and backpacks...with larger and larger backpacks bringing a higher defense quotient.
The first mission in the quest will be the waygook touching down in the Empire of Korea and needing to obtain his E-2 visa....with maybe subsequent missions being an upgraded visa with more power and freedom.
Now...Dave's ESL guys...add to my quest...Reply with new mission objectives, enemies, bosses, items, armor, weapons...endings etc....make this a freaking great game. |

For the male heros of the game, getting with a hot young K-girl has to be an important mission objective. |

Yeah...that will be one of the earlier mission objectives...for our waygook heroes need their F-series visa in order to continue their battle. Also, the hotter the girl...the more respect he will garner from the waygook community and lower the morale of the imperial Korean armies. |

But he must also be wary of ruthless language-leeches, diseased juicy-girls and fey princesses who would seek to charm and enslave him with their unholy witchery and siren's song (Opaaaah!).
ps: this thread is awesome!

Entry into the game missions should be the result of money accumulation.
You've got to run outside and attract soccer moms with kindies with yellow backpacks. You've got to run inside and edutain them by putting on a clown suit. You've got to run to the Korean Hagwon boss and get money, but only when his back is turned to you. When he's facing you he has an ugly 'nonono' face and that 'x' with his arms. He turns away from you because of supervisors coming in and out of the office.
You have to keep moving your character between the three locations (in the classroom, in the boss' office, and out front on the street) to keep all the levels up. When you accumulate enough money, you can go out on a mission.
As the levels get higher, Korean boss moves faster, kids come and go faster, and the occasional soccer mom latches onto the hero, and hugs him while his money drains. At the highest levels the immigration comes and does a sweep of the hagwon. Our hero has to avoid the officers.
This level up repeat scenario happens between special missions of course. |

If the waygook has a class of pure brats with zero chance of them getting any better, he/she can try to sneak a fan into the class and turn it on with the doors and windows closed. This will kill the brats and give him/her more vitality and higher morale. The waygook can use this when a random yellow dust, high pollution day strikes or when the hogwan has a virus infection rate higher than 60% of the hogwans student population. Plus mastering the art of squatting and finding clean hand towels should come at higher levels. |

F*CK! We've been working on a very similiar project in Jinhae. Perhaps we can bring together development crews. |

For bonus points or level ups, waygook guy flies to SE Asia, sitting on beach, drinking, meeting hot local chicks... that's all I can add. |

Thats a good idea. I often wanted to write RPG video games on the real world, but have no real way of doing it. In Final Fantasy and Dragon Warrior style.
Just like in real life, provide numerous choices such as which school and city to pick living in. It would be a very large game.
I expected the Koreans to be into those sort of RPG's, but they are more into the doing battle with each other over the internet such as in Warcraft and Lineage. And then I see this dance music game alot in the PC bangs and arcades too. No internet browsing, reading, or even console systems gaming. Guess all of what I thought computers and video games to be is Japanese, not a bit Korean. I miss RPG gaming like we used to do on Nintendo. When I get my own computer, then I will download some of that stuff. |

Special between-level-bonus-stage could be waygook going shot-for-shot on soju with a local bus driver. If our hero outdrinks the guy, he get's a night with his hot 23 year old daughter. If however, the ajosshi triumphs, then our hero gets a night with the bus drivers kimchi-scoffing-never-married-and-sex-starved older (like, 49, maybe 50 years old) sister.
If there's an option to play the game in female mode, as I'm sure there would be in this day and age, simply reverse gender roles in the above scenario. Although we could keep the ajosshi's older sister, as that would be a fitting punishment for either gender. |
