|
|
I accepted a hagwon job in March, and documents were submitted for the visa process. I decided not to work for them after I signed the contract. I never went to Japan and got the visa.
Now I've accepted another job, and the boss has been told by immigration that no visa application can be made until June (3 months from March). Apparently my visa for the old job is valid despite never getting the visa in my passport. Apparently the former boss refuses to cancel it.
Has anyone ever heard of this situation? Is there anything that can be done besides waiting until June? |

Use the visa to enter Korea and then, in a few days, leave. Tell the guy at immy checkpoint that you're not coming back. Should be able to get a new one as the old one will be used. |

Documents were submitted and a visa confirmation number was issued.
Either your old boss must cancel the original application for visa confirmation number
or
you have to wait until the confirmation number expires (90 days from issue) before a new one can be applied for and issued. |

There is no visa in my passport. I guess I'll need to wait 90 days like ttompatz said. |

Doesn't matter if you dont have the physical visa sticker in your passport or not, the visa application has been sent off/set in motion by your former boss and is hence in the SYSTEM!!!!!!!!!!!
The 90 day 'activation' period is now in place. |
