Huffdaddy posted slightly on this about a week ago. Today I just heard that, starting May 15, U.S. postal rates/service for mail/packages heading overseas will change (rate go up, a lot). So far service has been excellent and rates reasonable.

though I'm not a yank, my understanding is that it has a fair amount to do with fuel costs.

I got the word from a guy stateside. Starting May 15 U.S. Postal Service is dropping the surface option (4-6 weeks, cheap and ok if you're not in a hurry).

They are going to charge not just based on weight but also by size/dimensions starting May 15, too.

UPS made these changes to its services in January and U.S. Postal Service is following suit.

Another thing to add to my "Reasons I'm glad to be going home" list.

Dear Mr. Freethought:

In the future, please do not use common sense and/or facts in your posts regarding this topic. There are those of us who would much rather blame the Bush Administration for everything from sunspots to teenage acne. Thank you very much.

Sincerely,

T

Why are you slamming Bush? Aren't those things common in both Dems and Repubs?

Fk 'em all, they don't care about you unless you have money.
