where can I have a good bowl of ramen? (the Japanese sort). Also is there anywhere in Seoul I can buy Japanese instant ramen - the sort in the big bowls such as Goota brand?

Why don't you go to the Japanese ramen shop near Insadong street? It's called Kenzo Ramen.

They have nice Miso ramen. It's located on the same road as Insadong, but south of the big road that intersects it. When you see Burger King, go south one block and you'll find it on the west side. It's across from a movie theatre.

Enjoy!

There's a ramen shop in the alley beside Kukdong Broadcasting or whatever in Hongdae. I don't know how it compares to stuff in Japan since I've only had it in Japan once, but it's good to me.

The "deep taste" one seems more like the Japanese stuff, oily and heavy. The other one is lighter.

There is also a Kenzo Ramen in Myong-dong. It's quite good.

thanks for all the responses! yeah I've walked past the Kenzo Ramen place near Insadong but never been in, what does a steaming bowl of char siew buta ramen cost? (ramen with slices of bbq pork?)

anyone know where I can buy the instant sort? Some of them are really really good - come with so many flavor and sauce packets, instant Korean ramyeon is horrible in comparison.
