So, I don't even know where to begin on this.. Who has a bank that has been able to do the following.
1. International debit card.. you know the one with the visa or master card logo on it.. purchase stuff from anywhere visa or matercard is accepted.
2. Allow you to deposit and withdraw money into a savings account. (you laugh)... I was told today that "oh by the way the laws changed last month.. we didnt tell you this, but they did you cant get or put money into your account." have to fill out some new paperwork..
3. I know this won't happen anytime soon but CHANGE YOUR F**IN HOURS.. I don't know how anyone does anything while at work from 9-5 in this country..
I am ranting about this because I will be going back to the states in August for vacation. I really dont want to have to transfer all my money back home and then back here again.
Sorry for the rant... Anyone have a decent bank that has mainly option 1... Yes I know that it differs from branch to branch..
I currently have Hana Bank. |

My wife came across a brochure in English from Shinhan Bank about their Rainbow Plan. It says they will give you a check card, English bankbook, and other things. You might want to check it out.
I bank with KB, but I also have a Hana Bank account as well. I'm leaving in June and my wife has been kind enough to collect some information for the next teacher that comes to my elementry school. So I'm keeping a pile of stuff that she's put together in my desk and will leave it on the desk when I finish my contract. |

That is what I hate about this different brance location crap... I like Hana I even have one of the debit cards with a visa logo on it, but she is telilng me today that it can't be used overseas to withdraw money or purchase things. Although it says "international" at the top of it. Just frustrating as hell... |

So most banks here close at 5? My bank in NZ closed at 4.30!?! Seriously, I never managed to make it there on time.
Does anyone know what time KB bank closes? I need to transfer all my money home today. I need to make it there with plenty of time to spare. |

I would be that you can probably use it overseas.
The problem with banks it seems, is that you have to have an IQ below 50 to work there, and you must not know the actual rules, but instead just make up whatever you feel should be correct pertaining to foreigners.
My Hana bank is right across the street from the World Trade Centre, so I am guessing they are used to foreigners. |

When I left the States a couple of years ago the banks were open until 6 or 7 during the week. Saturdays they were open from 8-9 to 12...It was nice.. |

For a time in Canada banks were only open 10-2 everyday, then people got so angry they changed back. As for the hours in Korea they are changing, the unions want them to close earlier because they work to hard as it is now. 
BTW my KB opens at 10 and closes at 430 so count your blessings you lucky 9-5 people. |
