Been checking some flights online from Korea to other S.E. Asia destinations and am blown away on how expensive they are, ie. return to Bangkok or Manila for $1000+ and $700+ respectively.
I can only imagine what a flight back home to Toronto would cost at my expense. Any airlines or deals people?
thx

Glenn,
Travelling in/out of Seoul is most definitely tough on the wallet. Expect to pay premium KRW for travel to most major Asian cities. Domestic Carriers namely KAL and Asiana have a lock down on major routes within Asia-pac. Moreover, the frenzy for flights out of Seoul by locals (during peaks seasons & holidays) will unfortunately keep airfare at a premium.
Good luck |

Bubbles, I mean Glenn, go through a tour agency. I looked at Hanatour online and got a ticket to Bangkok and back for 700,000 with all taxes. There were cheaper ones, too, but at inconvenient times. You should get a Korean-speaking friend to help you navigate some other sites, too. |

288,000 to Bangkok, round-trip, Eva Air ipark.com
get a Korean friend to order it for you if you can't read it.
fares jump in july though maybe. but before then, the 288,000 holds. |

There probably is an additional 70,000 won tax on top of that though, but still cheap. |

With my airplan, I need 35,000 miles for a free flight to Bangkok. 35,000 miles is also good for Hong Kong, Beijing, Manila, and somewhere else. Taipei is 25,000 miles. Now, those places have such a huge range of prices yet they are the same airmiles, very strange. Right now, I have 34, 565 miles, so I can go to a lot of places for free right now. |
