|
|
so I have been burning somw dvds of late to watch on my 50" instead of sitting infront of my 18" monitor.. but what I have been facing is discs that freeze half way through a movie. its getting frustrating and always end up in my computer room finishing off the movie there..
so first I thought It was the DVD player. so I borrowed my friends one to see, all was going sweet but right up to the end of the movie the disc froze and wouldnt past that scene with freezing every 5 seconds like the other player..
so I am left thinking it must be the disc!!
I use TDK 4.7 dvd disc.. I thought by going with a good name like TDK this wouldnt happen...
is this only happening to me?? doesnt this happen to other people??
anyone got any advice???
my wife and daughter are ready to kill me if I bring in another burnt dvd which freezes half way through the movie... |

Try burning at a slower speed. What software are you using? |

It could be your burner.
It could be the discs.
It could be your dvd player.
Some burners are not very compatible with dvd players. And even for burners that are compatible with most players, they are still incompatible with a few players.
You can change the brand of discs, or burn at a slower speed.
You can try your discs on a different player. Older players, if I recall correctly, don't read burned discs as well as newer players. |

16X speed is fast. Maybe try 8X speed. |

16X is very fast. Many DVD-r's on the market won't support 16X. I burn Sony 8X DVD-r's but I always burn in 4X. It never fails.
Another possibility.........if your hard drive has developed bad sectors then you will get burn errors. It could be your hard drive.
But most likely you're burning too fast. |

put another vote on burning way too fast.. burn much slower, 4x sounds good.. it might take a while, but you will get better results |
