What do you smoke?
Cherry / fruit flavoured tobacco?
Does it make you feel ... "high"? |

I love Sheeshas/Argeelahs/Nargeelahs depending on what you want to call them, but what does this have to do with Current Events. Well, talking about Current Events is fun over a cigar or over a shisha. The Arabs and some Israelis talk politics over a shisha pipe. Shisha is what the Egyptians call it. The Lebanese, Syrians, and Palestinians call it argeelah and the Israelis call it nargilah and not shisha as do the Turks.
I love the stuff. I think there is a place in Itaewon for smoking it. I wish I had one at home.
I am going there in a few weeks to meet up with a friend who teaches in Daejeon. He discovered it recently and said it was awesome.

It is right near Chungnam University in Gung-dong. At the end of Gung-dong 7 gil, turn right at A-47 and walk 1/2 a block, you can't miss it. |

I don't know why it was there either. I think you mean Steve Schertzer. There are way too many threads about that guy. Anyway, I am moving this to off-topic. Maybe we don't need 10 threads about that Steve fellow.
By the way, I love shisha. It's great stuff.... I wish I could have some baklava, too. |

This thread is all kinds of funked up. A mod moved a thread about a place in Daejeon to off-topics because it mentioned Spooge Schertzer? It must be hookah-induced joke on the mod's part!
First, someone please post some directions to the place in Daejeon, especially you Senior English, you started this mess.
Second, for those in Seoul, here's my recommendations:
The best selection and nicest staff is at Gr8 in Hongdae, right above the Ska bar. Go to Hongdae University (the actual campus) and turn right. After you walk 2 or 3 blocks, it's on your left across from the 7-11. Space is limited, but there are 46 flavors and an extensive drink men.
If you go to that 7-11 and turn right down the alley, you'll see Bricx on the left across from Bulls dart bar. More space and can hold big groups, but only a few rotating flavors of hookah. Food can be good, or give you food poisoning. Staff can be nice or assholes.
If you walk past Bricx and turn left down another alley, you'll find Nabi. No table service, small hookahs, but lots of space if you are with a small group and wonder atmosphere.
In Itaewon, you have Bricx which is found by walking behind the KFC near Hamilton Hotel and turning left. It's on your left. Very small place with limited flavors of hookah, but their ladies night (Wed. or Thur.?) is good for women: Free drinks.
There are some other small restaurants that have hookahs, but aren't bars and service mainly a Muslim crowd. The Turkish place around the corner from the mosque has great food and after-dinner hookah, but no alcohol.
In Gangnam, Rainbow has good seating, good atmosphere and decent hookahs. Exit 6, walk straight, turn left at Cafe Pascuissci (the chain coffee joint). Walk down that alley and turn right on the 2nd alley you come to. You'll see the Rainbow sign on your right. Despite its name and colors, it's not a gay bar. It fits the Bohemian bar genre. |
