Hey, I've been riding my 125cc scooter for a couple of months now, but I'm still not really sure what it can do.

I guess my questions are:

1. How fast can I go when turning before I flip over? How far can I lean?

2. When I'm going like 70 or 80km/h Im afraid every little bump, or pavement change, is going to throw me off the bike. Could that happen?

Thanks in advance!

I only have experience on bigger bikes (650cc and up) and mopeds (during middle school Embarassed ).

I think you just need to get a feel for the bike, maybe have a couple "that was too close for comfort!!" moments, and that way learn the performance parameters.

Anybody have a 125cc? Hopefully they can be of more help.

Oh, and tires are important. The width and the tread definitely can make a big difference.

1. This depends on things like your weight. Suggestion: Put on every stitch of clothing you own and head for an empty parking lot late at night and run an experiment.

2. Yes, it could. Be careful out there.

Questions you forgot to ask:

1. How fast can pedestrians get out of your way when you are riding on the sidewalk?

Answer: Fast enough. Mostly ignore them and just beep your horn at the slow movers. Give a little leaway to very small children and very old people. No mercy to anyone else.

2. Can you come whizzing out of side streets and broadside cars without getting hurt or into trouble?

Answer: Yes, you can. Be selective about which cars you bash into. Aim for Equus cars. Those people have more money and can easily pay for any damage to your scooter. About speed: Slow down when approaching an intersection, then speed up when you spot a likely rich guy's car. Don't speed up enough to flip yourself over the hood of the car on impact...20 kph is fast enough to accomplish your purpose.

3. Are scooters good for meeting ta-bang girls?

Answer: Yes, they are. And because most of them have loose morals, they are prime dating material for lonely waygookins. Don't expect much in the way of English conversation, though. Ta-bang girls didn't get their job because of their 4.0 GPA.

Watch out for people opening their car doors while you are driving by. I have notices that Koreans don't look backwards when making lane changes, opening doors, etc.

1. Depends on your skill and your daring. You'll know the answer when you get there. Watch the Chinese delivery boys to see how far a scooter can lean. Pretty far!

2. Sure it could happen if you hit a big enough bump, or the pavement changes from solid to soft, but generally not. As you get more experience you'll get a feel for these things. In the meantime, just take it easy. Remember, you're a beginner. Wink

OP: You'll probably scrap your pegs, or you're bike will lose traction and slide if it's wet, before you flip over. Or, if you take a hard corner and come up wrong/too fast, you can high side and flip over the top of your bike, but usually this happens to people on sportbikes going very fast.

Gotta hand it to the Chinese delivery boys. The other day I saw one cranked over as far as his little scooter would allow and more: there were sparks shooting out from under the little Daelim as it was being filed flat by the pavement.

Watch out for loose gravel and other friction reducing substances. I weigh a very hefty 110kg and own a 100cc scooter and managed 85km/hr on level ground. Also, Koreans blow through red lights like Bangkok Bettys through Johns so beware. Oh, and bus drivers will pull around you just to stop 50 meters down the road...

That's because you're an imbecile.

Go up a hill doing sixty and set up a ramp. Right after the ramp jolt to your right really fast.

Please do it! I know you can, if you really try hard enough.

I think your scooter has amazing potential.

Q: What do doctors call young men on motorbikes?

A: Kidney donors.

Be careful out there. For some it takes a fall to show them where the limits are, sometimes that fall is not fatal, but close enough you might wish it were.

Um...have I insulted you at some point in the past here?

Well, chances of that are pretty good, I guess. If so, I'm sure you deserved it. I won't bother to look back to figure out who you are. Wait...are you that guy who was sad about waiting for a drink for five minutes? I dunno. Who cares.

Feels good to know somebody is thinking of me though.

Thanks to all the people with nice answers that don't involve me committing suicide- that's sick, man- it's only the internet- you want me dead?

You shoot your mouth off so ofen and to so many people you don't even remember who you're offending or talking to anymore. So don't cry when people bash you. YOU deserve it. Cry baby.
