So, this past wednesday's episode of Lost (4/26) was an EXCELLENT episode about Jin and Sun. What struck me though was the spot on knowledge of Korean culture. Do the creators of Lost have some Korean connection, or do the two actors advise them on those episodes?

I haven't seen it yet, but what I really want to know is did they wrap up the show and give us all the answers, or will they drag out this over-blown, long-winded tripe for another season?
P.s. I read an interview with the actor who who plays Jin and he said his Korean is not exactly fluent, so sometimes he just makes it up as he goes along.

DO NOT DERAIL Smile

I have my own issues with Lost--from what I've heard the producers are going on for two more seasons max. However, I don't know if I can be strung along that long.

I just like the back skyscape of Seoul, but in fact it was actually Hong Kong.

One of the writers, Christina Kim, is Korean (naturally, Kim).

She also serves as the story editor for some episodes.

No, he's not fluent. My students laugh at him when he speaks.

Yeah, the same --- I've been told by several Koreans here that when Jin and Sun speak, it's not "real" Korean.

I really liked the character of Jin's father. It's not your typical drunk ajjoshi, but a sympathetic guy who cares enough about his family to not require that he be the center of it. That's stretching beyond a stereotype of a domineering father-figure (much like Sun's) who has to control every aspect of their family's lives. Like in other areas of "Lost", you find balance between the light and dark. Unfortunately, the majority (not all, mind you) of the family men I've met here tend to be more like Sun's father. I suppose that could have more to do with where I live than being representative of Korea as a whole.

Yunjun Kim is an advisor to the show as well as an actress. She does the Korean translation as well as giving instruction to Daniel Day Kim (he doesn't speak Korean). She has spent half of her life in Seoul so knows enough about the customs.

Still, she isn't doing a great job. Glaring errors in the latest episode include:

- She took her husbands family name
- No sitting on the floor in the shack
- Pour your own drinks
- Shoes indoors

to name but a few Razz

The episode was ok. SPOILER ALERT:

Sun should've shoved that biatch off the bridge. Let Mr. Kim's truth be known to him, he needs to see his entire life isn't based on his origins.

I'm glad to see eye-patch man again, he's cool, and with his return and the pilots revelation about flight 815, we know a bit more about the "location" of the island.

Is that your picture in your avatar? Bc you look good with or without the gym.

Usually people with short attention spans don't like it or people who haven't watched it since the beginning.

Yep, that's Yunjin Kim, from season 1 (before the implants). If that's you in your avatar, you don't need to go to the gym -- you're hotter than most western women I see walking around Korea (that's right, I said it!!! Let the flaming begin!!!)

And yeah, the father was awesome --- but you rarely meet older men as cool as him.
