So if there was going to be an organised boxing match between the hosts of Wheel of fortune and Jeopardy - who do you think would win it?

Lets say five three minute rounds.

I'm not sure on this one.

Sajak definately seems the seedier, dodgier one of the two. I can easily imagine him drunk at a poker table in vegas on a saturday night, puffing a cigar and swaggering about, getting in a bar fight and using his mob connections (which I just invented) to get him out of trouble before picking up two hookers to take back to his hotel room, sniff coke off of them before indulging in all sorts of x-rated debauchery (including girl-on-girl antics and S&M). He certainly appears the more jack-the-lad of the two.

On the other hand Trebek has something grandfatherly about him, too clean cut. Too reserved, dry. I can only imagine him settling down with a history book and a nice cup of cocoa, before retiring to bed to snuggle with Mrs Trebek, but hardly giving her the rodgering that Sajak would.

But then I saw him on his AFN spot where he talks about his tours to visit the troups. It shows a more manly, rugged side to him.

He does seem to be the (marginly) better physical specimine of the two also. I can visualise him training for the bout rigourously, performing old style circuit training ala Rocky montage....

See him now doing sit up's with a medicine ball on his chest, see him now skipping cut - squat thrusts - cut - push ups - cut - jumping Jacks.

So who gets your vote: the devil-may-care-but-I-Don't rabelraiser that is Pat Sajak or the slow-but-steady-clean living Alex Trebek...?

I'm going finally, with Trebek. I think Sajak has the swagger - that's for sure, but perhaps not the mettle running through his veins to back it up.

Please feel free to invent boxing knicknames for each fighter and choice of outfit, if it pleases you. Victory - points or KO...?

Pat 'Heavy Patter' Sajak would win, but only because his Connections blackmail 'Little' Alex Trebek into taking a dive. They'd threaten to reveal the dark secrets about his 'wife.'
Richard 'Mad Dawg' Dawson, late of 'Family Feud,' would've crushed either of them though, had he not capped himself several years ago.

Alex would kick his ass.

The larger question is why in the hell am I spending time thinking about this.

Um, not that this thread matters, but Pat Sajak is a Viet Nam veteran, so he'd wallop Trebek. Wink

Q: How many Vietnam vets does it take to screw in a light bulb?
A: You don't KNOW, cause you weren't THERE, MAAAAAN!

I realize now why I was confused: it was some other dude, Dawson's replacement, who killed himself.

Trebek has got to have at least a few inches in height on Sajak. Sajak is a short man; Trebek's extra arm reach would be enough to outlast Sajak.

I think Bob Barker would kick all of their butts.

I think Pat Sajack was the fictional Bruno Kirby character from Good Morning Vietnam (in real life.) He may have gone through basic training, but 8 weeks done 40 years ago does not a streetfight champion make.

On the other hand ... Alex Trebeck....? He's an old man.

Yeah...but who could win in a battle of wits? (To the death, of course.)

Trebek.

I think most people are choosing Trebek for the simple reason of him being Canadian....

But he went to Korea once. So he's Korean. Unless he did something bad.
