I like surfing around on Google Earth, and it can be useful for those of us on the ground here in Korea. For example, if you're doing the visa run to Fukuoka and you'd like a bird's eye view of the consulate and surrounding neighborhood you can zoom in on 3335'29.54"N 13021'46.54"E. (Can anyone confirm that location so I can add it to the sticky on the Fukuoka visa run?)
As a travel recommendation, for those of you who are visiting Hahoe Folk Village near Andong, I highly recommend visiting the nearby and stunning Byeongsan Seowon at 3632'25.93"N 12833'09.72"E. Difficult to get to, but wow.
The one place in Korea that I'd really like to see updated on Google Earth is Gyeongju. I've been waiting patiently to be able to zoom in on Bulguksa, the area around Cheomseongdae, and so on. Does anyone out there know how Google Earth decides which areas to update? |
