Please tell me you are joking about jet Li being from Shaolin.
Jet Li was a WuShu player and champion in his younger days. He trained under Wu Bin (sp?) in Beijing and has probably never fought a real fight in his life.

Jet Li participated in the sport of wushu in the non-sparring event. He began his wushu career as a member of the Beijing Wushu team, an athletic group organized to perform martial arts forms during the All China Games. As a member of the team, he received wushu training and went on to win fifteen gold medals and one silver medal in Chinese wushu championships:
1974 — Youth National Athletic Competition: broadsword form gold medal, optional empty-hand form gold medal, all-round gold medal;
1975 — Third Chinese Wushu Championships: long fist form gold medal, spear form silver medal;
1977 — National Wushu Competition: long-fist form gold medal, broadsword form gold medal;
1978 — National Wushu Competition: long-fist form gold medal, optional empty-hand form gold medal, broadsword form gold medal, all-round gold medal;
1979 — Fourth Chinese Wushu Championships: long-fist form gold medal, optional empty-hand form gold medal, broadsword form gold medal, sparring form gold medal, all-round gold medal.
All his optional empty-hand form medals were won with a form called fanzi yingzhaoquan (翻子鷹爪拳, Fanzi eagle claw). His success led to the PRC declaring Jet Li to be a "National Treasure".
ooops I guess he was in the shaolin movies, not actually at shaolin!
still he can fight!! |

| Just ate at Jackie Chan's Chinese restaurant in COEX tonight. Pretty good and thought I'd share the word about it. |
Selling real Chinese food made by Chinese chefs, or is just another fusion restaurant? |
The dishes are Chinese but don't know enough about regional Chinese cuisine difference to tell you where each was from.
Many choices and nice helpings. I shared a helping of yummy spring rolls for the first time since came here the end of 2002. |

Now you are just being silly. Modern WuShu is NOT a figthing art. It is a performance art.
More recently they have added SanShou to the mix but that was after Jet's glory days in WuShu. Because Jet was being trained to be a forms champ his trainers would not have let him risk injury by participating in San Da or SanShou training.
Being on the Beijing WuShu team means you do not have a choice of what to do. Your life is strictly controlled and you have little freedom.

NOw you are just being retarded!
JET LI is a killing machine!!
just becuase he might not have had full contract cage fighting!
doesnt mean he cant fight!
he has said in countless interviews! over the 35 years of WHUSU kangfu he has mastered the disipline in all forms, mind and body!
Jet specialized in the following styles:
chang quan (long fist)
dao (broadsword)
gun (staff)
fanzi quan (tumbling fist)
3-section staff
pu dao (horse chopper)
And in addition, Jet also studied the following styles (some in more depth than others).
taiji quan (the 5 main styles)
xing yi quan
bagua zhang
jian (straightsword)
qiang (spear)
zui quan (drunken fist)
tang lang quan (mantis fist)
ying zhao quan (eagle claw boxing)
zui jian (drunken sword)
shuang dao (double broadswords)
axe
battle axe
double hooks swords
fork
9 section whip
mace
hammer
talon
trident-halberd
long-handled spear
short cudgel
meteor hammer
rope dart
sorry to bust your bubble, but JET LI is the real deal!
he will kill most guys! . He is well trained !!
you say he has not seen any full contact training?
maybe not in competiton, but I am sure the past 35 years he has done PLENTY of full contract sparring out of competition. training etc..
AND
for all you martial arts fans out there...
finally a movie with JET and Jackie in the same movie!!
