| I was watching this show called Cash Cab today, where a cab driver picks up a passenger and, if they agree, they do a trivia show while he drives to their destination. I was impressed at what these random people knew. Mighta just been those uppity New Yourkers, all smart and all. |

| You have to think that they specifically looked for very ignorant Americans. They wouldn't put on Americans who would know. So this isn't so representative. By the way, England is not far off from America when it comes to poor showing on Geography tests. The guy who answered sort of well was that Israeli sounding fellow. |

Right, of course. Funny, or sad rather, all it really shows is the OP's ignorance! |

What does this show then:

Please feel free to scroll down to page 5 and see how low American kids score on international tests compared to other countries.
Browse the site and compare results among different subject areas.
Smart heh? |

In many cases, the United States according to that page does better than several European countries. In two categories Canada does better than the U.K. The U.K. does better in one category - science. Canada does better in reading and mathematics. I remember, though, when it comes to geography both the U.S. and the UK scored far lower than Canada or Sweden when it came to knowledge of geography. It is surprising for the U.K. since it is so close to many countries and England was the seat of a large empire. I don't think the kids in the U.K. are that much better. I have talked to teachers who have said too many students in the U.K. are a major terror. |

I understand the other aspects of your post but that's not what the results show. Overall, partic. maths/science...UK kids do far better. |

What should I do? Come on here and write posts about how stupid, arrogant and backwards Korean ppl and their culture are? That would suit you fine right?
And yes, it does bother me that our respective countries take advantage of their power. Does it not bother you? |

Way to take the high road demi. Show what jerks the Americans are for making fun of the Koreans and acting superior by, uh, doing the same thing. Way to go hypocrite. You can justify it all you want but your the same thing you hate, you just dislike Americans, not Koreans. Its ok, I forgive you but you should re-evaluate this whole stance you got. |
