|
|
Has anyone done it? I have worked at summer camps before and have experience doing it, but have never done it on my own. I want to have it for the month of August.
I was thinking I would rent out a school/church and then get some homestays or rent out a camp on the ocean.
Any ideas/suggestions/weblinks for the following?
1. curriculum,
2. activities,
3. weekends,
4. games,
5. insurance,
Thanks! |

Just a note to any newbies: Fiveeagles is more than likely setting up a religious programme, the primary motive of which is proselytising. If that's what your interested in, fine, but as someone who took Korean kids to Vancouver last summer I'm passing givien past posting history. |

What if it is? Why would you care? Many of the kids in Korean are Christian. So chance would have it that many would like a christian program.
Anyway, it's a secular program for ESL. |

Actually that's the reason why I don't care about your programme, and why others probably won't care to add anything to the list. You've consistantly proven yourself an obnoxious Christian of the variety whose endeavours most people wouldn't care to support in any way.
I recently took a flight back from HK and ended up seated next to a Baptist minister from Texas. You would think that would be a recipe for disaster, but we had a very pleasant conversation over several hours and I found him quite an interesting guy. He has a church in Seoul and shouldn't be too hard to track down. Perhaps you could meet him and get some tips on how not to make Christianity look so unpleasant. |

By the way, I see you already got a completely benign post mocking your programme removed. Why are Christians like you so helplessly sensitive? |

I think ENDO removed it on his own accord. I didn't say a thing. Too bad for you, because I'm sure you would love to have your image of "sensitive Christians' promulgated.
So anyone out there with good ideas or has Yu_Bum_Suk done his damage? |

Hey fiveeagles how's about you taking that skanky ad off of your location. What is it that makes you think it's ok for you to advertise here while the rest of the world has to pay to use the service and post their ads in the appropriate section of this site?
I don't think it's YBS that's doing the damage, you seem to have a little trouble with tact. |

Since when is religion benign?
The idea of education polluted by religious themes revolts me. Children should not be subjected to drivel coming from a book of superstition, which they are then told is 'the truth'. Such a shackling of the mind is abusive, subverts a child's curiosity regarding the natural world, and leads to attitudes that are inflexible and exclusive.
Religion. Just say, "No." |

Wow, what a fantastic thread. I mean, the civility here is overwhelming.
Or at least ask nicely. Is that possible?

Have enough demons manifested yet or do we need to do some ghost busters on this place?
One more chance? Anyone want to get this thread going? |

No.
It was a rhetorical question, dig?
Get over yourself, man, you've gotten away with the free recruiter plug. What more do you want?
Again, what is it that makes you think you can advertise a service here for free, when the revenue from advertising for that very service is the bread and butter of this board? |

As you can see I take out ads every week so that puts me in the thousand camp. So simmer down the rhetoric.
I saw Mith, Chronic Pride and all the rest pluggin Galbijim so I didn't think it would be wrong to plug my company. Are you going to smack down the law on them as well? How about Cuban Lord and his teaching site? Or the numerous others who use "skanky ads" to promote their sites? I also had someone tell me it was ok to recruit on the boards so I didn't think it would be a big deal.
Or is just going to be....me? |

Galbijim and Cuban Lord's stuff, as well as the stuff that's posted by ddeuble and a whole lot of others - these are resources made by teachers for teachers to use. Those are not skanky at all.
The difference is that you are a recruiting company, and one that has dressed up as a general reference site. I went to your forum and, as you probably know, had a little trouble engaging in any forum-like discussions because it's not a forum at all - it's your job board. I appreciate that you have ammended your location. |

Quite honestly, posting my advertisement on my fiveeagles tag probably hurts business rather than helps it with friends like YO SUK BUM. Look at the direction of this thread.
If you look at Galbijim, there is a lot of recruiting going on there and it seems to be in direct competition with Daves. However, I don't think that's a bad thing, rather I think its a positive thing that will eventually help Daves. Everyone knows that this is the premier site that everyone in the business goes to.
I have dropped over a thousand bucks on advertising on this site in the last few months and I plan on increasing that total. That should factor into the bill when I am on this site. Especially if people can get to know who I am and see that I am here for the long haul rather one of these recruiters that lurk in the darkness awaiting their next victim. I think it would bring accountability to these shoddy recruiters and put them out of business. |
