If I try to take a bike on the subway, will they kick me off? |

I would bet no, but expect to get a few weird looks, and try to avoid crowded subways. |

I have seen bikes on the subway many times, so I wouldn't sweat it. |

I was told only collapsable bikes are allowed. I've seen them on there, and on buses, but not full, uncollapsable ones. Rules don't seem to be enforced much. I'd go for it. |

Did it all the time. had to with no ticket once because I had a flat tire and no tube or money. board at the first or last car on the subway and you will be fine. A couple of stations might give you grief over it.. Just act desperate and helpless and they'll let you on. |

I've just bought a bike so I've only done it once. The guys in the subway station office definitely saw me going through the gate with my bike but didn't say anything at all. I boarded the last train as was suggested in another post, and it was no worries.
A (somewhat) related question: has anyone ever taken their bike on a bus in Korea? Not a city bus of course, but an inter-city or express bus? I was thinking I could just chuck it underneath in the baggage compartment, but I wouldn't want to show up at the Express Terminal in Gangnam, buy a ticket, and then have some bus driver tell me I can't take my bike to Gyeongju. |

I don't htink you'd have any problem getting your bike on the bus. The thing you might worry about is your bike getting thrown around all over the place by the bus as it zigs and zags at high speed all over the place. |
