I'm currently looking into teaching in South Korea. I've been talking to people who've been and checking out Dave's ESL. I haven't heard anything about ASK Now. Maybe that's a good thing! They seem like a really good recruiting service, but I wanted to get some feedback from anyone who may have used them. I'm still debating on using them or trying to find a job on my own. My main reason for possibly using a recruiter is to find a school that will let me return home to be in my sister's wedding. I'm not sure if I would have any luck searching on my own with that request. Any ideas or info. would be very helpful. Thank you!

If you do find a teaching job on your own; that is, deal directly with a Hogwon Boss, the possibilty of taking some time off for your sister's wedding is very high. I was in your situation, but I decided to deal with the school itself, no recruiters, got the 2.5 salary, and got my week, seven days, to see my siblings, mother and father. I think you may have more flexibility with direct dealings, but mind you, this was my case, and I stated my intentions of visiting my family before I signed anything...

Just remember to get everything in writing. EVERYTHING! This is for your protection.... Surprised
