Hi there....
I am dead set on working in South Korea, have got my tefl and degree etc, but am terrified of trying to get a job in a school from the Uk by telephone and email etc in case its not legit....

I have applied with flying cows as they appear quite reputable, but nothing seems to be happening, is there anyone who can suggest a recruiter they used and know to be legit? Also is there any way can definately check out a recruiter or a school?

Any and all help appreciated!

Thankyou,
Clairey

Have you phoned flying cows? Chase them up. They could be busy and they need a call to get you known.

There is a company called "Flying Cows?" No wonder you are nervous about coming over to Korea! Shocked

Anyhow, try a few recruiters, don't just stick with a few.

Anne Kim at U.E.C. was recommended on the board before so I went through her. She was great, kept in contact the whole time, kept me informed of everything that was going on, met me at the airport and waited with me until my bus came, and sent me a follow-up e-mail after I arrived to see how things were going. And I ended up a good hagwon, so I have no complaints about her!

I found Kims Korea to be very useful. The girl (Gina) spoke fantastic English and answered any questions that I fired her way.

They get my vote. Footprints were useless.

I'm really impressed with Angel Recruiting so far, as well as Park English. I haven't secured a job yet, but they are great to speak to, and their collective websites are extremely helpful, especially for n00bs. Wink

Never heard anything bad about Duff Recruiting. He's a foreigner, too (I believe married to a Korean), so no language barrier.

I'd like to second 'WorkNPlay'. More than any other recruiter I've dealt with, they were interested in matching me with a great situation and followed up extensively after I began my job. They really go the extra mile with their clients.
