A friend of mine recently got a bad ingrown toenail. He wanted to soak his foot in Epsom Salt. He went to various clinics and even to Yonsei International Hospital/Clinic. None of the doctors (who spoke English) knew what Epsom Salt was. My friend even wrote down the chemical formula MgSO4 Magnesium Sulfate. Still, the doctors just shruged him off telling him that there wasn't such a thing in Korea and that it didn't even exist. So I wonder what the deal is? Have Korean's never used this common household item we use back home? Also, why do foreigners still get treated as if they're 10 years old. My friend wanted to convince the doctor that Epsom Salt exists so he told the doctor to google it and the doctor simply told him no. Talk about saving face! Give me a break.
The result of this lack of treatment was my friend getting surgery on his toe this morning and now he can't walk on it.

Aisle 4, shelf 3.

Seriously, most supermarkets SHOULD have salt, but if not, the foreign foods store near What The Book in Itaewon should, too.

It's not just normal salt, that would be Sodium Chloride. Epsom salt is Magnesium Sulphate, it has lots of uses. It's good stuff - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epsom_salts
