Okay, the love hotels sound great. However, are they like the ones in Japan in that once you check in you cannot leave until you are ready to check out? If so, with luggage, this would not be the ype of place I want to stay in. I think you'd understand that... What the &&*&**&* would I do with my suitcase? Lug it around every I go???
Please let me know if they are te same as in Japan in this way. |

J-guy,
In my experience, you can leave your belongings in the room, and go in and out with no worries. However, some of these places are shady and I wouldn't leave anything of value in them.
Motels are probably a better bet (about 40-50 thousand won), if you are going semi-cheap. I've stayed in Love Hotels that were quite nice and had a security desk where you could leave valuables. I think it all depends on what kind of clientel they primarily cater to....
Maybe somebody can chime in on exactly where you should go.
Where exactly do you want to stay (city/town)?

hell, the one my director had me live in for a few weeks didn't even give me a room key so my room always had all my luggage in it and was never locked. Gotta love small town Korea... |

The love hotel I stayed in at Haeundae, Busan, was 27.000 a night and was surprisingly clean. We had a key so we could go in and out.
If you can accept a cheesy room like this, they can be quite fun to stay in. I felt like I was on the set of a porn film (unfortunately, I was not.)

I have had a luxurious room with a jaccuzzi, DVD player, computer, free soft drinks, huge room, etc. for 50,000 Won.
I have also had trashy rooms for 40,000 Won. Personally, I would hit the Gangnam area. Lots of places to stay at reasonable prices. |

There's a whole bunch of luxury Love Motels near the Jeonja subway station in Bundang.
Prices for what GWOW describes start at 50,000 and go up to 70,000 for the biggest and most well-appointed rooms.
I tried a few of them in this area. The best was CF International. (I based my judgements on how big and powerful the jaccuzzi baths were!! CF had huge four-person jaccuzzi's with really strong jets!!)
Hotel Joya was also good as was Hotel Novios.
My then Korean girlfriend assured me the newest one is always the best (they're constantly opening new ones) but I fail to see how any could get better than CF International.
They really are incredible rooms. You feel like a millionaire for the night!!!!
They make a great treat for you and your lady after a hard weeks teaching. |
