Can anyone tell me where to find reasonably priced protein powder in Seoul (30-50,000KRW)? I found some at Lotte but it was ridiculously expensive. more specifically, I'm looking for a protein powder for women (protein rich, low carbs). I'm dying to find some!!
Also, I'm looking for plain oatmeal. I've found the Quaker flavoured oatmeal, but I'm looking for the plain old no-sugar stuff. Haven't been able to find it anywhere...does it exist in Seoul??

Where do you live?

If you go to the small grocery store up Hooker Hill on your left when your going up the hill, just 10 seconds before Whatthebook, you'll find oatmeal there. If you keep walking up, turn left at the next corner and you'll see another small grocery store less than a minute away. They may have some plain oatmeal there too.

If going to Itaewon is too far for you just to get oatmeal, then try going to buildings where they have businesses like clothing stores, jewelries, small grocery stores and the like, you might find someone selling imported goods... and oatmeal! Anyway, they do have plain oatmeal in my building, in the one next to ours and in the one where I used to buy it when I worked close 고덕 station. Good luck!

Have not found my oatmeal either, but I did find Hob Nobs oatmeal cookies from England at Homeplus. These are a very tasty nutrition rich food supplement to the typical low nutritional value foods here such as rice cakes and Cass Red beer. I do not cook much of anything and do not have any handy sandwhich shops nearby (nothing hot, but wide rice noodles in broth) so yes, I am hungry for good ol' oatmeal with cinnamon and brown sugar.

Protiens? Please get some BBQ strip streak here now! Peanut butter is my protein source here. Not that much to eat other than boiled eggs, peanut butter, bread, milk, rice cakes, noodles, gimchee, and beer... well you get the imcomplete picture. I long for a good scrumptious hot dinner. Samgyeopsal at a downtown restaurant is good when you go with a group of friends, once in a blue moon. (not something to do by yourself)

If you can't ask in Korean for oatmeal, just print out a picture of a Quaker Oatmeal box and show it to people. It's hard to believe you wouldn't be able to find any. I never ate that back home, I began eating oatmeal in Korea after an Australian co-worker pointed out that for just a little more than the price of a cereal box, you could eat oatmeal for much longer and it's much healthier. Anyway, where are you? If you're not too far from me, I could show where to get it.

Costco has oatmeal. 40 or so packets in a big box, price comparable to what you get it for at Costco in America.

Good protein powder is found at www.mass119.com

Its quite tasty. I got the bioplex one its 100 calaries and 20grams of proteins.

I lived in Busan and the blackmarket there had big containers of delicous plain quaker oatmeal.. The flavoured crap is full of empty sugar carbs.

Reading how many times on Daves I've seen people looking for plain oatmeal, I just don't understand why Costco doesn't stock the stuff.

I've only seen plain oatmeal there once in two years. They keep the flavored stuff in stock all the time. I think they probably mke more profit from the flavored oatmeal so...

Not my first choice (I'd rather have the plain stuff), I bought the flavored one because it's 17,000 won for 55 envelopes - maybe the best price you're going to get in this country.
