Several. I saw the aftermath of a man who jumped in front of a metro train in Moscow. Some gangsters shot each other up at a restaurant I was eating in, 2 died. I have seen a 17 year old girl overdose and die at a fashion party.

I have seen the dead body of my grandfather, great-grandmother and great-uncle.

Oh... my other granddad, too......

Otis: do you have nightmares about what you saw??

I've been to quite a few wakes but that probably doesn't count. Can't actually picture any of the bodies as Ive blocked them out. The old people wakes are normally good fun but the ones for young people after road accidents, drug ODs, suicides and illness(meningitis for a guy down my road) are really bad. My granny's wake was actually good craic although it was a long time ago, peple just told stories and the men drank.

OP, if you want to see some sick stuff, check out rotten.com. There's another, one, too, but I forgot what it's called- ah! www.ogrish.com (I think). They are blocked at my work, unfortunately~ Anyway, I don't have the stomach to look at that stuff for too long...

I've seen one....had been dead for about 2 hours. It was a very surreal experience. How quickly life leaves the body.

I saw a really really nasty death one time. I was getting off of work coming onto I 35 N in Dallas. I was just entering the highway at 3am. I was surprised because it looked like lunch hour traffic. Usually, there is almost nobody on the road that late.

SO, I was frustrated, that I had to go through the whatever you call that side of the road you're not supposed to drive on, but if something happens, you pull over to it road. Anyways, all 3 lanes were blocked, so as I was passing through the corner, I look over to where the pink lights circled an area. Just out of curiosity, and there is this dead guy. His body spread out like x. And his intestines, all that stomach area skin was gone and splattered, he looked 2 dimensional, and eyes wide open. Gross, I wonder why the cops didn't cover him up.

I actually left work starving to death literally, but I totally lost my appetite. I couldn't stop shivvering for a day, couldn't sleep either. I didn't eat for a whole day. I was just wondering how I'd go. Definitely not like that, I hope. That had to be so freakin painful.

I read in the newspaper, that he was on a motorcycle and lost control. People ran over him numerous times, before someone finally called the cops. He was wearing all black, which made him blend even more with the street. Makes me never ever want to ride a motorcycle.

One time, I was dating a guy and we had no choice, but to ride his crochrocket. I almost wanted to cry when he was going fast or turning. I was like there's no way in hell, that we're going on the highway with that thing.

I've come across a few. Nothing as drastic as repeatedly run over road kill, but they've all had enough impact to suck the fun out of my day.

Two road fatalities in Korea. One guy rolled his car and was flung out onto the road. The other's car looked like a concertina with the impact crushing the car up into the front seat and the driver still inside.

Used to work in pathology where part of duties was to assist Pathologists conducting autopsies. Not often, but often enough. The worst was a 2 month bub. Very hard to take, and I was drinking heavily that week.

A drug buddy who didn't make it after slinking off to a backroom to blat up.

The only one I saw that didn't include funerals, hospitals, suicides, and cadavers at uni was at the local rowing club. Went out for a morning row, and my oar hit a log... on the way back saw the cops dragging the canal for the body I had hit. Had to answer questions from the cops as to why there was a nice divot in the guy's skull.

Some years ago there was a suicide in the building next to my classroom in Mok-dong. I saw the body fall past my window - students' backs were to the window luckily - and later, saw the aftermath. Blood, sand, all being sprayed down. I never saw the body itself on the ground though, since I was busy teaching class and knew it would be a bad idea to let the students know what had happened.
