I'm a huge comic fan myself but I thought it was fun. Not a wonderfully fantastic thought-provoking existential piece but yeah, it was what it was: a big budget Hollywood comic book movie. And it was exactly that: fun, entertaining and (if you enjoyed the fight scenes) thoroughly watchable. I think too many people have the habit of saying, "Well the first two were great and this one stinks" for a movie that totally doesn't stink but just doesn't deal in the expectations they had. When you go into a movie like this expecting it to be something and you come away disappointed you can only blame yourself. Accept it for what it is and enjoy.

In my opinion, certainly not a waste of 7 bucks and definitely something to catch at least once. As a comic fan, I'll be picking it up when it comes out on DVD just like I have most of the other comic book movies. Smile

I thought it was nice. Lots more character development than I was expecting, especially with Harry, but the amnesia plot device was too cliche for me. Considering it's the third in the series, I'm happy with it. No other superhero franchise I can think of has had such a decent run. It definitely beats Batman Forever.

That said, I was able to pick a lot of nerd-holes in it. Not plot holes, mainly nerd-holes. Not as many nerd-holes as Lost, and fewer than Heroes, but still some. It didn't affect my impression of the movie much.

It was a pleasant way to waste a few hours. Anyone else see it in Imax?

You probably don't want to hear this, and I don't know you or your tastes in movies. But really, I would recommend that you go and see it at the theatre. There's really no difference in the price of a pirated DVD and a cinema ticket, and it's the sort of film that needs to be BIG (bigger than any TV screen) to be fully appreciated. And understand, I'm speaking as someone who'll buy just about any damn thing on DVD. I have a fairly huge film library at home, and I'm foolishly undiscriminating when it comes to adding to my collection. But guess what? Even *I* am not going to waste my time & money getting Spiderman 3 on DVD. And again, I'll buy and watch just about any old *beep*.

Well....sarcasm aside RT, I also asked the various people selling the DVD's. It is possible that they've been selling out faster than they can produce them.

Batman Begins is the first in a series. If you want to compare it to Spiderman, compare it to the first one. Batman Forever was the third one in the previous Batman series.
