| They're not strong but when they get old they become tough old women. |

And speedskating....
Yes...those are some real rough and tumble sports.......
Personally I don't think Korean women are even the strongest on this continent. Tthe ajummas from the war era are certainly tough but the generations after come off as complete wimps.... |

I agree that the ajummas or women from the older generation seem tough, but the younger ones somehow have become these princesses.
I have no real understanding why. Again, some Korean women are strong and tough, but they are encouraged too often to be more like damsels in distress. There is a certain macho culture that is pervasive that undermines the women. The women need to be more empowered here. I don't mean to become man haters and lose their softness completely and imitate Western women. They just need to be appreciated for who they are and what they can do. |

God help me but I'll ask anyway...
You think western women are man-haters and have lost their softness?
I could have just read what you wrote wrong since I am dead tired... |

No, but some women act like that towards men as if they are all vile creatures who just came out of the sewer. Many of us are bad, but I think we have had too much of being slammed, I think. I think Western women act like that, sure, and this behaviour is encouraged. I took a feminist ethics class, by mistake, and our male professor kept slamming us and the females said nothing and the guys were often afraid to speak out for fear of getting a bad grade. I spoke out. My grade wasn't too high. Most Western women aren't that way, but I think both Western men and Western seem to be slamming each other and hating on each other a ton. I wasn't referring to you. You seem like a good woman and nor am I referring to most on here. I think liberation of females is good, but we also need each -males and females and to understand each other rather than drawing apart which we have done in the West.
What do you think? And, I do support some feminism. |

Thanks for answering my question. I don't want to derail this thread so I'll just leave that topic for another thread, I guess. |

Brento 1138 wins! I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. ㅋㅋㅋ |
that was good.
The thing about Korean girls [generalization warning] is they pretend to be weaker than they are. They do this whole BS routine about how they need you to carry their purse or kill a spider or whatever. They think that's what they ought to do. But it's bogus or at least partially so. You know who's tough? Liberian girls. |

Or how about the squealing-like-six-yr-olds & the grabbing-onto-each-other-for-protection during loud thunderstorms? And they're 20-somethings. That always makes me chuckle. The first few times I saw that, I was pretty sure it was just an "oh, how dainty and helpless and cutesy am I!" act they were putting on for the random men in the vicinity. But then later I saw them do it when there were no men in sight and I was in my office looking out the window. Nope. It wasn't an act. At least not for us men. |

yeah. i dunno if the act is "for men" or not, but it's definitely phoney insofar as it's totally socialized. you know, the whole deal with socialization is it's hard to say if it's an act or not.
what gets me is seeing girls on TV who are phoney cute but have these intense nose jobs. are we to believe that they're afraid of spiders but they're not afraid of getting their nose broken with a chisel and cut in half? |

Miss Seoul, if "Korean women are one of the strongests", who is the weakest? Japanese women? Surely you must know the answer. Do tell us!
