Is anyone else here on this guy's e-mail list. I've spammed. I've replied "please remove me from your list." To no avail. I still get at least one cryptic, strange e-mail every few weeks about the on-going schemes of the Korean government and US military to dismantle this guy's career. Despite reading the e-mails I still don't understand the situation.
Does anyone care to summarize, clarify, comment, etc. |

I have never met the geezer, but i asked about volunteering with him years ago, and have been on his mailing list since then. They have been getting more insane, paranoid, arrogant and loaded up with consiracy theories over the years. I reckon you probably saw the recent one where he inferred that the Korean government was following him and puting pubic hair in his bibimbap. He believes he's got a special relationship with the mayor, and this is the cause of the US army tailing and harrassing him.
Feel sorry for him, but I do have a macabre fascination with his emails, i enjoy reading them .
Yeah, here you are...

* I stopped in another restaurant to eat Junk Bibimbab ' A bowl of rice, vegetable and red pepper paste. ' The dish is most popular this area. I asked for two eggs as I needed the protein during the trek.
The lady brings me my meal smiling very brightly and make a point that she forgot to add an egg. I stated that it was needed but she comes back with the yolk of an egg twirling it around in a small bowl before dumping it in the Bibimbab.
I am almost finished eating the Bibimbab and notice that their is a curly hair mixed in with the been sprouts of the dish. I pick it out as Korea is not known for requiring hair nets on cooks and chefs. Finish the dish as I was very hungry, pay and leave the restaurant. Shortly after leaving the restaurant I realized that I had in fact visited the restaurant in past treks twice and I had found a hair in the dish twice!
That's when I realized that the hair wasn't that from the head of any human. If was a hair from the private parts of a human! Pubic Hair!
There are numerous other events which took place during the last few hours of the trek but I think this Pubic Hair example is an sickening enough example of how a country treats people who make a stand to better the lives of it's citizens. I was called, ' Korea's indispensable asset by the Australian Ambassador ' recommended for the Seoul Honorary Citizens award twice which was signed by the top executives of the Bank of Korea. Yet, some sicking side of within the country just continues to harass my everyday life by repeating! |

He bumped me from his email list after i asked if he thought it was a good idea for him to be round kids.
Here's a link to his site http://www.yheesun.com/
Then there's this,
On two occasions, I was attacked very strongly verbally, harrassment and digital means.
- Setting up the situation
- Leading up to this attack, I had just returned from a cross-country trek for children. The first attack was the hardest and was very painful emotionally.
- I entered Hwasung on a Saturday morning which was the regular volunteer day for y-heesun members. I was greeted by a volunteer and hear one of the Heejin 'one of the Hwasung Girls' stouting my name and running towards me. I bent down while speaking to the volunteer to give her a hug. She suddenly started twisting around and pulled back looking at me strangely. I was a puzzled as I didn't know what was going on until Ms. Lee says," You need to be careful of Heejin. Sometimes she will do that. " Naturally I said, ' No! I needn't be careful of Heejin! It's your job to ensure that she doesn't do that unless a real situation happens. What if something really did happen? "
- Within the next few months I made my annual October - November '2005' cross-country trek for children. I returned to Seoul and visited HWasung once more on the following Saturday Morning. The event with Heejin happened once again. ' Similarly, Ms. Lee was busy and I wasn't able to tell her of the situation for a few days! However, as hints were supposed to be told to me 'by a top official in Korea.' I visit the orphanage to see the woman with whom I had a relationship with. She walked into the room, threw some 'Anytime' hard candy on the desk, picked one up and ate it, then held out a very colorful watch and said, ' Will you give this to Heejin? ' Instantly I knew what was going on and said, ' No, I told you before that was your responsibility! ' She looked away in an Oh My God! guesture.
And the the attack began.
- Gave Mr. Lee a call and the ever so clear, ' Woo, Ah, Eum sounds which she was making followed by; ' Crazy! ' Click the phone was hung up! Being in a relationship with her. It was quite shooking and confusing to hear her act in such a manner. I didn't know what was happening as then attacks came from all sides!
- Sometime before or after, I stayed in a motel room at the end of a long nights walk as these people were driving me nuts. I awoke the next morning to hear sounds of passion coming from the next room which I recognize as the woman which whom I was dating. I did not stay around to listen nor go knocking on the door as I was still in a confused state at the events which were taking place against me. In the case of the sounds which came from the motel room next door. All that I could do was hope that it was not the sounds from the woman in which I was involved and trust her as much as I trusted her.
- It included an U.S. Army spouse 'Elisabeth' shouting at me for no appearant reasons with a line of at least 15 soldiers around us shouting. ' yeah, hooah '
- The suggestions which this woman was making were numerous. With the choir of soldiers shouting behind her. I didn't know what the heck was going on!
- ' Why do you only like girls? '
- ' Why is it that you only take girls out? '
- ' I can see right through you mister! '
- 'I'm going to tell Dennis Owens 'ARMY MP OFFICER' what you did to that poor little girl Heejin and after he gets finished with you. You are going to the Korean police! '
- You are an English teacher! ' It's not were is Sooyoung! ' , ' It's Where is Sooyoung!'
- ' It's not Lee Sooyoung! It's Sooyoung! '
- If you worry so much about Ms Lee, ' I don't see why you aren't breaking down the damn door trying to protect her! '
- Throughout the next few days Ms. Lee would come over at night to sort of check on me and bring in suggestions. Suck as, ' Your only problem is that you are not willing to Kill people! ' , What did you do with all the money you raised? ' , " Did you know that 911 happened through a chain of events caused by you? '
- You can imagine with all the stress of making changes to the orphanage system and being attack with the forces only Government have. The stress level was extremely high.
- The next few days the same Army wife came up to me enraged once more stouting that, ' We'll get a Lawyer! ' My only respose could be, ' Go ahead! You people are messing with me! '
- In such a situation, you really do have anyplace to turn. I called the Mayor office and the workers whould say, ' He busy now! or ' He's not in at the moment! ' More than likely, some of the people around him were aware of the attack happening without informing him of the situation.
- The second attack was similar with the acception that I was able to gather some hard evidence on the attack. You can see an earlier Newsrelease for the a little understanding of the second attack.
- There is no real sum to the situation which I experienced nor the harassment which happens on a daily basis. You just hope that everything will get back to normal and it did. The relationship with Ms. Lee went on as it did before. Partnership, love and passion. Natural to a man and woman involved.
- Unfortunately, light harassment continued on a daily basis. http://www.yheesun.com/ktf/February1.html
- KBS Television
- Once gain I took a trek in February to get away from the stress of politicians continuous mischief and problems which they made. I found a KBS PD to make a program for myself so that we could continue to promote local adoptions.
- The PD went back to Seoul and I called him later to check on the program. He answered me with a bunch of bs and started up with;
You Loser!
You are using these children!
You fucken American!
You piece of Shit!
Get out of my country!
We don't want you here!
It went on and being in the situation which I am in I didn't need to get upset or anger. I tried calmly explain that I was recommended for the Seoul Honorary Citizens Award by the top persons of this country for my efforts. However, his statement was repeated and it was obvious that he was being influeced by someone with political intent!
- more coming soon. I'm trying to update as I recall. A lot has happened so it'll take time.
Then there's this http://www.yheesun.com/ktf/February1.html
Awesome.

yeah... I have been on his email list for the last 3-4 years...
I first joined- because at that time I was very interested in volunteering at an orphanage... (putting in a few hours per week - to help/teach the kids)....
however... I soon realised things were messed up - and also have never been able to be removed from his emailing list.....
the last email I received 3 days ago - was something about the "Korean government" deliberately putting "Japanese and child porn" onto his computer where he was staying in a hotel room".... etc etc....
Ron Fowler is ex-US military himself... (serving in korea duriing 1985~1990) quit the military to teach English - then "save the orphans" ....... (has been doing now for over 10 years).......
........now he seems to be having grand illusions (similar to paranoid schizophrenia) that the whole Korean government, Mayor of Seoul, US government, AFK... are all out to get him and make his life hell...
It seems he started off years ago with a good cause - to put foreign volunteers into orphanages and to try to change the orphanage system and pressure the government into giving more assistance to "low-income/poor families" so that there would be no need for people to discard their children..........
however - stress finally hit him a few years ago - and that is when he also started trying to change korean politics and laws, rid the country of prostitutes and massage parlours, rid the internet of porn, stop the US forces from relocating to their new base, etc etc
In the meantime - he became "very close" to some of the "young girls" at one of the orphanages (a little too close) and has often tried unsuccessfully to adopt them... (which as a single white guy - of course he can't)... but often in his emails - he rants so much about these young girls (which he refers to as his daughters)... so much - and never once mentions anything about the boys who are also at the orphanage.. that even I believe he has something "naughty" going on with these small girls....
the outcome....? He now lives at Jamsil - is almost 40 years old (well 37~38 years old) .... cannot maintain a teaching job - and is showing all the symptons of Schozophrenia... (suffering from delusions, paranoia and anxiety, disordered thinking, and difficulty in distinguishing what is real and what is imaginary) which has been making him behave more and more bizarrely.
I really do feel sorry for him... but I also think he needs to go back to the USA and get some help (medical help)... before its too late and he does something terrible...

I agree with a previous poser that crazy people write the best stuff. I have signed up for his rants and ravings.
If he becomes a danger do we have to put him down like a sick dog? |

Ron Fowler named one of San Diego Magazine's "People to Watch"
Wasn't there a big noise in the EFL teacher community here several years ago, used to write for the Korea Times I think, with a similar-sounding name? Was it Ron Fowser? Ron Fouser? Something like that.

That's really sad. This guy has schizophrenia and he needs medication. He should not be around children. |
