I don't have anything to say, but it's a nice change from a Bash Canada thread.

That one would have 5 pages of replies by now.

Why do so many British people ask so many loaded questions? Very Happy

A "loaded question", like a loaded gun, is a dangerous thing.
A loaded question is a question with a false or questionable presupposition, and it is "loaded" with that presumption.

No bashing from me. Indeed, cheers to British humour. Something I have always loved.

You mean like this one in which a well-known prevaricator easily entices a member of the Lame Stream Media to lob him a loaded (with propaganda) question?

Now, now little lady. Let's curtail this prattle from the colonies. The British are more than proficient at bashing themselves on a habitual basis. We need no rally from the rest of the Empire. May I add the British are so astute in their bashing that indeed the sun never sets on such proceedings. May I include that I bash myself at almost any occasion and spur other Brits around me, should there be any, to ally in this jovial endeavour, the health benefits of which are shown in my indefatigable semblance.

Now do excuse me, I think the Bishop is at the door.

toodle pip!

I've mostly watched British tv for the past 20 years back in Seattle.

Favorite comedies:
Chef
Yes, Minister
Yes, Prime Minister
Waiting for God
Red Dwarf

I have watched some that were clunkers, but the best I've ever seen were always British.

Also, many great mysteries on Mystery, like Prime Suspect, Rumpole of the Bailey, Brother Cadfael, Inspector Morse, and many more that I've forgotten the names of.

And in another genre, one of my favorites that I recently ordered Season 1 and 2 of from Amazon is Ballykissangel.

I would classify myself as an Anglophile, but in the land from which I hale, the raging Christian Taliban would probably try to get me arrested for Anglophilia if they ever heard about it. Wink

Oh, yeah. This is a bash the Brits thread, right? I can do that.

Hey, what's with this driving on the
wrong side of the road, anyway?
What's up with that?

Seriously, the Brits used to have a brutal empire that was one of the scourges of the earth, but the mantel has now been passed on to one of their former colonies. (Though they do try to re-live some of that old imperial gory, , , er, I mean glory by being an imperial lieutenant to that former colony.)

LOL

Jolly Good! Though I suspect one may need to be British to enjoy that little pun...

10:1 this thread becomes another bash-the-Americans thread before it hits page two.

People like you simply cannot express an opinion on anything without thowing in at least one antiAmerican sneer...

For one who has such good taste in comedy, you seem to have a surprising difficulty noticing when one is being facetious. More a giggle (ever hear of self-parody?) than a sneer really.

I mean questions such as...

"Why is America so gay?"

"Why is it still so exciting to discover someone is sexually repressed?"

Ok, I'll bite.

Why do Brits, but not other Europeans or Caucasian North Americans tend to have such weak chins, as if their face is melting onto their neck?
