Alright, I'm considering a few different hagwon potentials in Suji. I've been told from various recruiters that Suji is "part of Bundang", but from what I can tell and have been told, it's actually south of Bundang.

I used to live close to Samsung Plaza in Seohyeon, so first, if anyone lives and works in Suji, how long does it take to get back to there by bus - 30 or 40 minutes?

And, in a broader sense, what is Suji really like? Lots of parks, trees, walkways, quiet like Bundang - or is it more "empty" and out in the sticks? If you wanted to head in to Seoul Pub for a brew some fine evening, are we talking a minimum of about an hour one way, or is it not that bad?

Anything to recommend or deter me from Suji would be great. To give you some perspective, I lived in Bundang and loved it, and I dont' really go out and party much in the week, or even weekend. I like to explore, walk around, enjoy some good food and walks, etc, but I also like to be fairly close to a major bus and subway, like in Bundang. So, any thoughts? Thanks much.

Suji is actually part of Yong-in, though in upscaleness it is similar to bundang. I don't know much about it, looks like a bunch of fashion strip malls to me.

If you take the bus from Seohyun to Suji it will take you about 40-50 minutes, depending on how bad traffic is.

I don't consider Suji to be anywhere near Bundang (Jeongja/Sunae/Seohyun) in terms of quality of life. It seems quite boring there actually, a place built mostly around apartments. If you live there, it would be quite convenient to get a scooter in order to get yourself around since everythign is spread out. Sure, they have a few places like McDonalds, KFC, Pizza Hut, Suhi restaurants, health clubs, etc.. but it's too much of a family town for me ( i know Bundang is too, but Suji is worse). There is a reason why I choose to work in Suji, but not live there...it's too boring

Suji doesn't have much to offer. In my first year here (I'm about to start my 3rd!) I was living and working in Bundang. My hagwon (which I have nicknamed the Bullsh!t Factory) transferred me to its Suji location about six months into my contract. They wanted me to move there, too. My response? Oh H3LL no. It's got nothing on Bundang. Suji's isolated from transportation (buses suck), the shopping's mediocre, and it's a formless jumble of strip malls. I stayed in Bundang and commuted. Was often late for work, which the hagwonians didn't like, but I reminded them I hadn't asked to be transferred and wouldn't be renewing my contract.

I've lived and worked here in Suji for nearly 2 years now and there is not much to do or see. Mostly apartments, the lotte/emarts and shops where they sell things i have no interest in buying. Since i am here with family, it's ok since stayimg home is mostly what I do before and after work. some bars and there are many foreigners, so there are people to meet and hang out with. It takes about 15 mins by bus to get to Migeum station in Bundang. And buses to Seoul (Gangnam and Jongno) take about 35-60 minutes depending on traffic. It's an ok place to work, but not much to see, though on weekends its not a big deal to hop on a bus and head to Seoul.
