i'm hesitant to get a CostCo membership. i've heard from co-workers that the one closest to me in yanjae is a real pain in the ass (always crowded, hard to get a taxi back, etc). do they sell any wraps at E-Mart?

No. If you're in Seoul, your best bet is to go the International Mart in Itaewon near Whatthebook. Not only do they have tortilla shells, they have a ton of other Western and S-E Asian products, at a fairly reasonable price, too.

Side note for the suburb people... If anyone lives near Sanbon (or Anyang area) there is a cool shop in downtown Sanbon called the Living Gallery which has tons of foreign stuff taken from army bases. Some of this stuff includes Tortilla shells! They have a ton of other stuff too ranging from vanilla, Crest toothpaste, Kraft Dinner, to very cheap beef. It's like a mini costco in there!

Agreed. Looking for awesome (and cheap - 5000 won a dish) Indonesian restaurants? Craving REAL dumplings (Chinese)? Looking for cheap-ass curry powders from S-E Asia? Head on down to Ansan Stn on a Sunday - great vibe, kick-ass grub, friendly people.

Rule of thumb in Korea - where there are many 3D workers, there's good stuff to be had. As Mr. T would say, "True dat.".

I just found 6" tortillas at HomePlus (freezer section next to frozen pizzas).

Sinsaegae also carries them in their grocery store.

Yeah, they have them at Homeplus. Look carefully --- the package does not look like the normal tortilla package and I overlooked them the first time around.

This might be obvious, but Costco also sells some fairly decent shells.

I know Costco is a pay in the neck to sign up for, but it is worth it. They have some of the best cheese there...Tillamook Chedder. If your making Mexican food it's well worth it.

Its not a pain in the neck to sign up for. I handed the woman my ARC and it was all done in about 10 minutes. 35000 i think. Definilty worth it when you consider all the savings. SO much tehre is 1/3 to 1/2 the price of Emart/Homeplus/homever, if not more. Not to mention all the things that you can only find at Costco.

What's a pain in the neck is the Easter egg hunt that some people play to get everyday western items. Where's the Red Door? How can I get to the Volvo Building? Where's the shady basement ajuma that sells deodarant? Psst...I just saw tortillas in Homeover. Lets all make a run for it!!

For me, if Costco doesn't have it, I don't need it.

Laughing Laughing

Like Stu said, look carefully. It's an orangish or tannish package. I just spotted it by chance when I was looking for cheesecake. Laughing

I went alone, 3 months after I got to Korea when I couldn't even read Hanguel, let alone speak the language...

... it's not complicated.
