why are there more korean girls with foreign boyfriends than korean guys with foreign girlfriends? my guy friend here (he's korean and he lived in the states for almost 5 years, and he's had american, korean, and other asian girlfriends) and i are talking about it. i'm not a girl so i don't really know how western girls feel about korean or asian guys.
(i know there are lots of threads on here about this, but i couldn't find any of them with the search function)
what do u all think? i know there are lots of korean guys with foreign girls, but the majority of interracial relationships involving koreans is korean girls with foreign guys. why do you think this is? |

I'm pretty sure, as far as the ESL community goes at least, that a majority of teachers here are men, not women.
Likewise with businessmen and the military. |

If we're including marriage it's actually the opposite:

sorry, i should have been clearer: my friend said he's interested in relationships between western girls and korean guys. |

| They all hide out in Kangwangdo. When I went there, last summer, on the beach, the only interracial couples were Korean guys with white chicks; quite a few of them actually.. It's like they're so ashamed they have to travel off to far reaches of Korea. Daegu had a few more K-guys with foreigners than Seoul, but still way more military with K-girls, at least it seemed for the short time I was there. |

It's partially statistical: more of the caucasians in Korea are men.
It's partially cultural: Korean men are more likely to be interested in issues of lineage (as in, having a Korean son to carry on the family name).
But as for my personal experience, while I know many many western guys with Korean girlfriends, the women who do well in Korea often end up with Korean guys-- many friends have married or seriously dated Korean guys. |

I don't even assume he's ever coming to Korea.
Or is he to save the oppressed white people? 
As to the OP, my little speculation is that there might be a bit of difference between the sample in the west and that in Korea. I know one Canadian girl who didn't even almost know it was possible to date Asian guys back home and now she's exclusively dating Korean guys after she came to Korea. Good ole "couldn't get any back home"...? No. She's a physically fit and spritited cool quarter-celebrity person. She's an avid Korean-learner, too.

| Someone should figure out the percentage of posts Princess makes that DON'T involve accusing girls of being huge skanks. I'd put my year's salary that it's under 50%. |
