I have a friend who has never been to a sauna that I want to take this weekend. We probably won't be doing the naked pools, but I'm into the hot and cold rooms and the massage machines. Any suggestions? There was a pretty good one that I used to go to by COEX, but I've heard there are even better.
Thanks!
J

there's a really nice one in myeongdong, but oh man i can't remember the name of it. it's on the top 3 floors of a highrise, on the main shopping street beside migliore...
it was super, i've also seen reviews of it in various travel mags.
ah, here's the website: http://www.hurest.co.kr/main/index.asp

I like Spaland at World Cup Stadium. It's not near a drinking area, so it doesn't fill up with drunk salarymen late at night. It's more of a family place, so at night it actually mellows out. It's also big and ha a lot of amenities.

There's a really nice one tucked away behind Seoul Station. 5 stories, plenty of those dry rooms, and the top floor is just for sleeping with three rooms full of bunk beds: 1 for women, 1 for men, and one for snorers. Laughing

You have to get behind the station, so walk through Lotte Mart and then start walking to your right. Cross the crosswalk you come to (it'll be on your left) then you'll walk up a steep driveway to the sauna. Sorry, I forget its name.

Well, if you don't want the water, the Hamilton spa is actually quite fine; they've got the cold and steam rooms. Also, I think the best pure spa in Seoul has to be the Crown hotel. A little expensive at 15k won, but it's quiet as hell, hardly anyone's ever there. Really relaxing.

I second that one.

Thanks for the help.

The amenities and general atmosphere at the Hamilton sauna have rendered it my favorite.

I would recommend Gangbyeon [or Riverside] Spaland, it's very near Techno Mart at Gangbyeon station. There's maybe 12 types of rooms, heaps of massage machines, gym, restaurant, even those doctor fish in a foot/leg spa. The water is great as well if you decide to get in, there's 7 different pools I think... All good for 9000 won.

A friend mentioned something about a sauna with an amethyst room, a gold room, etc. Does anyone know more about this place? Like where it is?
