Is anyone else into Doctor Who? If you're not, you should watch it just once, with an open mind.
PS: The Tenth Doctor is hawt.

Some episodes:

Geeky opinion time:
Anything not written by Russel T Davies tends to be okay. But they're really over-doing it with the Daleks. Tennant isn't too bad, he's better than the last guy. But I prefer my Doctor to be your weird eccentric uncle or grandfather, and not some big emo cry-baby like he is now. I hope they eventually write that out of the character.
And I'm glad they got rid of Rose. I liked her starting off, but she was also way too much of an emo cry-baby/ Mary-Sue and I got sick of her by the end.
Empty Child and The Doctor Dances were pretty solid from the first series. Gridlock was probably the best episode of the current season. Face Of Boh will live on 4evah! |

Yeah, I like the Doctor for hungover sundays. What do you think about 'torchwood?' I watched a few of those last year and thought they were pretty good... |

I enjoy Doctor Who, but they seem to be getting really full of themselves. The Doctor Who Confidential series which runs after the show has been extended from half an hour to a full hour so they have more time to talk about how brilliant they're being. It just seems like they're hypnotised by their own glamour.
Torchwood never really got there for me. It was hard to care about the characters as much as they wanted. It did have its moments though. |

Yeah that was my problem with the Battlestar Galactica podcast. The producer kind of pats himself on the back a bit too much. "This is why this episode is the greatest hour of TV ever!"
Torchwood I also couldn't get into.
The only thing I don't like about this new Doctor is he's too good looking. The other doctors were always odd looking guys. Us odd looking nerds had someone to represent us on screen in a sexy way. Have a big nose? Throw on a 20' long scarf, hit a sci fi convention, and it's tail city.
But now? Oish. |

Heard 'The Master' is making a reappearances this season.
Daleks were over done, but loved the showdown with the Cybermen,
"We have 5 million Cybermen, how many are you?"
"FOUR!"
"Four, you would destroy the Cybermen with four Daleks"
"We would destroy the Cybermen with one Dalek! EXTERMINATE!'
"Delete!,delete!'

Yeah, there was a lot of smack-talk going on in that episode. |

Well, I only started watching with Christopher Eccleston and well, I REALLY liked him. He was odd looking with a cool accent and all that stuff. It took a long time to get used to Tennent.
My friend has a theory that your first Doctor will always be your favorite.
I think I may have tried Torchwood but couldn't get into it.
Where are you watching Doctor Who Confidential?

Yes!!! It was too cool! I could watch it a couple times, I think.

Torchwood had a good concept but poor acting killed that show.. God that Fugly chick with that huge gap between her teeth is friggen annoying. Plus that Doc guy he is fugly too. Script writing is pretty shallow as well. |

Another question: Did anyone watch the old series? I see a couple of the episodes on TV-links but is there somewhere I can find the other ones? I know it's like Star Trek and you can watch for days and days and never see all of the episodes... but I'd like to try! Doctor Who has such a long story and stuff keeps coming back... I don't always feel I'm completely getting it. |

There have been something like 30 seasons of Doctor Who. You can find episodes on Bit Torrent, as well as Doctor Who Confidential (which was very useful for the first season and a half).
I got into the show with Christopher Eccleston, but the new guy doesn't bother me at all. |

Hey, Sop:
Great avatar!
As for the old episodes, you can get many on DVD. Unfortunately much of the stuff from the first and second Doc's got lost. The series started the day Kennedy got shot. I watched it first with the third Doc, Jon Pertwee, the one before Tom Baker who was Doc with the scarf.
As for the new stuff, I only get to watch 'em when I'm in England. I think Tennant is too good-looking, but he does have those odd-ball expressions.
My favorite companion was Ace, who was with the Seventh Doc. She kicked Daleks' casings with her nitro-nine. |
