I just gave away my kitty. I loved him so much but the thought of putting him through a 15 hour trip home plus the 2 weeks of traveling before I settle back down into my own place to live was too much. He doesn't deal with change well and the friend I gave him to was worthy.

I hope you find someone for your kitty! I'd love to take him if this wasn't my situation!

Isha has been promised to a couple who are planning to be in ROK a long time. She will be making the move at the beginning of June. I believe they are going to treat her like the special, wonderful kitty she is. I know she is going to love the attention and affection.

Choosing was tough. There were many good candidates. Thanks to ScorpioRising, Andrew, KumaraKitty and ucfvgirl for offering to make a place in your homes as well as in your hearts.

Many people have written to offer positive suggestions and helpful comments. I appreciate your caring support. Thank you.

Some of us don't have that much spare cash just lying around. I know that I don't. I send so much money home every month to deal with my debts back there, that I live on a failry tight budget here. So, don't assume everyone can afford it.

Yes...you do always "slam people" for this very thing. If you don't have any spare cash "lying around" then how can you ligitamize taking on any pet as a companion? I'm tired of seeing your posts regarding animals. Have you ever supported a rescue organization or taken in multiple animals in need? Op..good luck with your situation.

Actually, yes I have. I adopted my terrific Jindo from someone here in Korea and he has already traveled once to Canada with me and will be going home permanently this summer. And I fostered a Yorkshire terrier for a week until I could find a new home for it. And I dog sit a friends dog whenever she goes out of town. So, I think someone needs to get the facts straight before opening their mouths.I am not sure why you felt the need to slam my comments about not having spare cash lying around. I was just responding to someone elses comments. I like many others, including the OP, are just sick and tired of people taking animals in and then deciding they don't have the time, desire, energy or resources to take of them. There are just too many people out that have no clue what it is to take care of an animal.

Does that go for rescuing kittens as well?

As opposed to what though? The animal being put to sleep? The animal being neglected?

I am not sure what you people are trying to get at. I oppose anyone getting a pet because "it is so cute and they just have to have it" and then a week later decide that they just don't have the time for it. I am definitely not opposed to people rescuing animals off the street. I appreciate what they are doing by trying to find the animals new homes. That's how I got my dog; through a rescue. However, I thought long and hard before I decided to get him: Do I have the time for a dog? Will I be able to take him back to Canada with me? Can I afford a dog? Etc. The answer was obviously yes to all of the above, considering I have had him for over a year and have never looked back. There is a difference between 'getting a pet' and 'rescuing an animal'.

Does the animal actually have any input on the matter?
