Lucas said on Fox News wrote: |
Lucas told me he has seen all the summer movies since his company, Industrial Light and Magic, does most of the special effects. The only one they didn't work on was "Spider-Man 3." What did he think of it?
"It's silly. It's a silly movie," he said. "There just isn't much there. Once you take it all apart, there's not much story, is there?"
Well, it's not "Star Wars."
"People thought 'Star Wars' was silly, too," he added, with a wink. "But it wasn't."
Lucas, by the way, says he is readying "Clone Wars," an animated series for TV that's derived from "Star Wars." Many "Star Wars" characters appear in "Clone Wars," but voiced by other actors.
And here's a little news: Lucas tells me he will make two more live-action films based in the "Star Wars" era.
"But they won't have members of the Skywalker family as characters," he said. "They will be other people of that milieu."
The two extra films will also be made for TV and probably be an hour long each. But, like "Clone Wars," Lucas doesn't know where on TV they will land. |
Not the big news the title makes it out to be. What's with him taking down Spiderman 3 - that's uncalled for. He isn't a critic. |

Of all the complaints about Spiderman, "not much story" has to be the dumbest I've heard. If anything there was too much story. |

Obviously, Spiderman 3 suffered from lack of Jar-Jar. |

Geez George if you're going to be doing all the back breaking working of making new Star Wars films then complete the bloody trilogy of trilogies. |

Spiderman one was 'ok'. Spiderman two was 'ok', too. Spiderman 3 I haven't seen, ok? Ok.
Star Wars kicks butt, however. It's more than just 'ok'.
That's my movie review. If you don't like it, go see a movie. |

Give Spiderman a light sabre and an X-wing fighter and it could have been ok-plus. 'Insectman' it should have been called. I had more fun in the bath at ten with my Spiderman bubble bath. |

And you seriously think Star Wars was better? Even the new movies? |

Episode 3 was very good. He should just enjoy his life. The series is completed.
What does Lucas want to do more of these movies? Ego? Money? His net worth is estimated at $3.6 billion.

George Lucas is a big fat pompous puffed-up boob, and all his best ideas since 1977 have been somebody else's. But, hey, what the hell! I still prefer bad Star Wars movies to no Star Wars movies at all. I won't be buying any of the action figures, but I'm happy to watch whatever they pump out.
I even watched the 'Clone Wars' cartoons, and kinda liked 'em, and I watched the 1977 'Christmas TV Special' too. It was INTENSELY BAD but even so I liked it anyway, because it was still Star Wars. Booba Fett was in it. Leia was obviously bombed out of her gourd, and the acting was...unspeakable. 'Chewie's Family,' indeed. Hah! What drivel.
Love that cheese! |

Did people go to see Spider-man, expecting some great story and dynamite acting? Or did many people go because they like Spider-man and they wanted to see some awesome action scenes? |

Why do Paul McCartney or the Rolling Stones keep putting out records? How about Stephen king? He keeps writing books! |

Spiderman swings around and, golly-gee, shoots web from his wrists. How about some variety, Spiderman! He's such a nerd. |

Paul and Mick at least are trying new music. They're not trying to make "Sgt Pepper Part 2, Fixing ANOTHER hole" or "Some Girls 2- More Ho's"
Movies are different. You CAN ruin a good thing by making too many in a series.
Proof?
Godfather 3
Dumb and Dumberer
Need I go on?
Besides, Lucas has $3.6 billion. That's A LOT of money. |
