Hi all

I spend quite a bit of time in excel and database programmes with formulas. i normally have one hand on the mouse the other on the number key pad. However due to the location of the = key i have to move my hand. (sounds minor but by the 300th cell it gets a bit annoying, let alone the 1000th cell).

Is there a way of making my pause break or scroll lock key the equals key?

I googled however the only ways involved download programmes. I would prefer a way of doing it that does not involve additional software (just cleared out a bunch of freeware and my computer seems to be running so much faster and more stable).

Cheers

You can remap keys by changing the registry. You can get started by taking a look at this link: http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/device/input/w2kscan-map.mspx.

Remember to backup your registry before you change anything, since a single change can screw you over. Wink

it works perfect. so easy my home key is now my = key, my scroll lock brings up the calculator.

Only problem is you have to reboot
