|

I have a question for anyone who's done evaluations on a lesson / lesson plan. What kind of questions would you ask / did you ask if you were asking a native Korean middle school (grade 3) teacher about a particular lesson, approach to teaching it, etc.? Say you had a few minutes for an interview - what would you most want to know about?
Thanks in advance for insight or help anyone can provide. |

First question would be "how would you judge the lesson to be a success?"
"What happened in the lesson that you would like to change?"
"How would you change or improve this lesson?"
This what I usually am thinking when I'm either writing up a plan or after the first time of doing it. |

I'm new at this game. So my trainer's words are still ringing in my ears:
(1) What was the communicative purpose of the lesson?
(2) Did the students achieve the communicative purpose?
(3) Why did or didn't they achieve it?
(4) What can you do to help them achieve it next time? |

Thanks. It's a pre-lesson interview I'm prepping him for so any questions you'd ask in advance would be great. |

Here are some example questions I've come up with. Please let me know what you think.
Example Questions.
1. What is the communicative purpose of the lesson?
2. What are the greatest affective filters at work in your classroom and how do you attempt to overcome or reduce them with this lesson?
3. How does this lesson make practical use of the students existing L2 skills?
4. What are the strengths and limitations of your textbook material?
5. How does the lesson seek to engage the stronger and weaker students simultaneously?
6. How would you follow up this lesson with future lessons that would reinforce it?
7. Do you feel that the various components of your lesson are well integrated, and if so, could you explain why?
8. What size of classroom is this lesson geared towards and how would you change it for a smaller or larger class?
9. With A / V resources are you equipped and how does this lesson make use of them? If you could use any additional A / V resources, what would they be and how would you use them?
10. What are the strongest mnemonic devices this lesson employs? |
