Hi Guys,

Who is the absolute best tailor in Seoul for men's suits (in your experience or what you've heard)? There are so many of them, but I don't know any of them. I'm looking to have a formal suit tailor made (job interviews, formal events etc...), so I need specific names of such fine individuals in their profession (phone number even better).

Price is not an object. I'm thinking of Armani at Daechi Continental if all goes wrong. I'm only stating this because quality is very important for a good men's suit. In Canada, there was a mom & pop shop that I went to and they did wonders. They had over 30 years experience and it was just a great experience. But here, I don't know who is good until the suit is already made!

If you have positive experiences with a certain tailor in Seoul, please add it here. If he/she is already mentioned, please don't hesitate to also support the original poster. That way the best results can emerge from general consensus. Very Happy

All the best...and thank-you!
BigFoot.

If money is indeed no object, fly to Italy and get one tailor made there.

But if you're bent on getting a suit made in Korea, I'd try the custom tailors around the Westin Chosun Hotel near City Hall or places in Gangnam.

I suggest looking around that site for some things to look for when having a suit made. Also, there are some threads about Korean tailors, especially (I think the name is) Hahns. Do a search.
Here is some background on fusing and canvassing.

If you are an easy to fit size, check out Sierra Trading Post. They have good makers at good discounts, and you can have them fitted.

Edit-Here's a thread on Hahn.

Alpha Tailors in Itaewon (near the McDonalds) are great. Affordable and really great suits.

I've said this before and I'll say it again. Korean stores have a tendency to get sloppy if they think they have a customer's business (as in he or she goes there often). Keep them on their toes and complain about ANYTHING that you don't like.

Do us a favor and try one of the tailors around the Westin Chosun Hotel near City Hall. I hear they are more expensive BUT better than the ones in Itaewon. There've been plenty of guys who've gone to Itaewon but I have yet to see a post describing a custom-made suit experience around the Westin Chosun Hotel.
