Well, Let's see...

I kinda saw the trend...didnt you?

For my money the weakest superhero franchise going today

I disagree.

Spidey 1 - Really bad
Spidey 2 - Absolute *beep*. No redeeming moments.

Spiderman is on the same level as all other superhero movie franchises including Batman (except for Batman Begins). They are all bad beyond the level of noticeable difference. IE. It's like comparing -40 degrees with -41 degrees. Both are way too cold.

I would have to disagree. SM1,2,3 were all very well done. the all time worst has to be the initial tim Burton Batmans. By the way, i hate Tim Burton, not personally, but just his style of directing. Although i did like the Planet of the Apes, which no one else did.

Then perhaps Fantastic four (but FF2 looks awesome), then the Hulk were pretty average.

Superman was lame because there were too many plot holes and we are sick of Lex (even worse who portrayed him) and Parker Posey just needs to stick to playing disfunctional characters that exist in everyday life rather than villians and such (see Blade 3).

Batman Begins was great, but Batman really has no superpowers so your imagination is sort of limited.

Oh yeah, Catwoman was just senseless and not even worth mentioning.

But the best "Superhero" movie, if you can call it one, was Unbreakable.

The only thing i dont' like about spiderman is Kirsten Dunst. She's sort of ruins the whole thing as Liv Tyler did with the LOTR trilogy (god i hated her in that).

Actually, thats what makes Batman the best. His superpower is his intellect. I think superpowers are lame. One of the characters that has superpowers that I do like is Wolverine, but his are really subtle. I think Superman has got to be the lamest hero ever invented. He has almost every superpower you can think of and that makes the whole premise idiotic. Batman is the thinking man's superhero.

Ah I saw it tonight. Wasn't too bad. He fights three super baddies, keeps killing them, they keep coming back. That was getting a little stupid. Spiderman 4 needs less singing and dancing.

The movie cost them $300 million to make? Where was the $300 million? I didn't see much of it on the screen.

Batman's superpower is NOT his intellect. His father was really rich and Batman has cool toys. His cool toys are his "superpower," if you want to give him a superpower. He doesn't have a superpower, though, and isn't nearly as cool as Spiderman. Spiderman 3 was true to the original story and was pretty well done, aside from the fact that we had to watch tobey maguire try to act the entire time. The Batman movies are better, but there is no argument to be made that Batman is a better character than Spiderman.

To which 'original story' are you referring? (Not the comics, I presume.)

well, since the comic book developed over a few decades and this movie only had a couple hours, of course it was different, but I felt like Raimi did a good job of keeping the pieces in place without dealing with the whole Secret Wars saga, etc. If they could spend time on Secret Wars, then they could explain the suit more and get into the sci-fi character of Venom a little more in-depth, but I think anyone would agree that the movie is better for not trying to cover too much territory. There's already enough storylines going on in it. I understand why he didn't focus on Sandman as much as the books do, since he is essentially immortal, and that's no fun. So, taking these points into consideration, yeah, I think they did a pretty good job of sticking to the story.

Well, if Spiderman had killed Gwen Stacy, I could agree with you wholeheartedly.

All I gotta say is I thought is was decent. Topher Grace was pretty good in it as the 'Evil Spidey'. Spiderman series tries to come out looking all rosey and goody-two-shoe due to it's world-wide appeal. Hardly any of the bystanders get killed. I thought they overplayed the uncle's/father's death flashback in this one and might have been too graphic for younger viewers.

The film had 'Mask' elements to it for sure.

Saw it in 3-D, loved it. The sandman was really cool.

Yeah some parts are kinda silly, but hey it's a comic and it's for the whole family.

The Spiderman series has been very good, only second to the X-men for superhero movies.
