I've been spending a lot of time reading this forum, occasionally posting and asking questions (and getting helpful answers). Thanks to everyone for your help and support!
Rather than asking another billion questions, I figure the best thing to do is go to Korea and live there for about one month before deciding whether to stay there for an extended period of time. I've got some money saved up, so I can budget up to 1 million won for a month's rent, which hopefully will get me a decent place.
I'd rather live alone with my own apartment, hopefully with a laundry. No dorm style or living at someone's house. It can be tiny, doesn't really matter. If that amount of money isn't enough, I could probably bring it up a bit more.
I've found this place so far:

Anyone know of any others? 1 month only, maybe 2 months maximum. |

"gruegoo,"
Good move, man! Looks like a wise decision! I should have done this before I worked as a teacher in Korea some time ago...test out the waters; that is, live there for an extended period. I believe with that type of accomodation, you'll have fun! |

Seems cheaper than what you have found but with similar accomodation dorm style like yours (judging by hallways). But rule is no overnight guests.
I guess if you saved 1 mil won for that, then serviced residences geared for businessmen can also be a good and prolly better choice. |
