I don't know how many of you remember my story back in December or January (?) about my problems with Zed Tour in Itaewon. Here is a little update.
I still haven't recieved any money back, which is a major pain in the a$$.
However, finally the police got off thier collective fat cans and got something done. We found out that the owner hadn't registered this business since something like 2002. Also, he was in the country without a valid visa, and was given an exit order. So, the immigration department got involved in the case as well.
We found out through the police that he was being sued by nine different groups, including the Korean Consumer Protection Board (KCPB). He eluded the police for quite a while but he was finally caught. He is in the custody of the immigration department now. The police have finished thier investigation, and I believe he was found guilty. He will be deported soon.
I think there are some others on this board who were involved in this dispute with him. I am wondering if you got any money back from him at all?
I am just happy that something finally has happened. It would have been nice to get the money back from him though. We asked the police what would happen to the things in his office (computers desks...) and what would happen. They said the family would get everything. It seems to me, that if this were the USA or Canada, that the business items would be sold to pay off the oustanding debts. I guess that is not the case here.
If you were involved in this, let me know what happened to you. |

I have known this snake for a long time but did not know that he was in country without a valid visa.
He told me on February 13th that he had 14 days to pay you back. He also wanted me to find out your name so that he could sue you for allegedly spreading lies about him.
You know, he also told me that he'd be killed if he were to return to Nigeria because too many people there hate him. |

Everytime we talked to him he said he would pay us back. I don't think I could count the number of times he said that to us on my fingers and toes.
He even told the police that he would pay us back by some specific date. Then that date passed and still nothing.
Then just to bait us even more, he called and asked for my bank account number so he could send the money the next day. Guess what happened....nothing. Then again he called and said specifically that he would pay back in two days. He was "very sorry about everything." Guess what happened...nothing.
I guess his lies finally caught up with him. And I couldn't care less what happens to him in Nigeria. That country is a $hit hole anyway! |

His kids are in trouble because the Nigerian embassy refuses to issue them passports since they were born here. Of course, Korea's racist policies negate the possibility of the children receiving R.O.K. passports.
Emmanuel was tied up with corrupt elements of the N.I.S. and the K.N.P. He also arranged missionary visas and other sorts of visa for over 4 million won for a bunch of people.
I met a Pakistani man a few years ago in Zed's former office in back of the I'taewon police box. The guy is married to a Korean woman and sued Emmanuel for several million won for some kind of fraud. He and I ran into each other on a flight to Hong Kong on March 15th. He told me that he had to go back to his hometown with 200 bucks because of Okonkowo.
Emmanuel also committed fraud against me and pulled a bait and switch on my Canadian cousin and his wife.
I wonder what will happen to his pubs/restaurants. |
