I'm shopping around now for Univ. jobs, and was wondering if this ad is serious:

1.6 to teach Uni? Out in the countryside? Wouldn't only people with fake diplomas ever consider this? I got paid more when I was here the first time 9 years ago. |

The basic salary is 1,600,000 won per month. However, the overtime pay is 22,000 won per hour and usually the total salary is 2.0- 2.5 million per month. |
that would be a LOT of overtime in addition to the 18 hours basic. to get 2.0 you would have to work about 23-24 hours a week, which at unigwons is usually a horrible split shift. I agreed to take on overtime at my unigwon this month but i am on campus from 7:30am - 9:20pm 4 days a week to do it.
the 10 weeks vacation isnt too bad though. I think this position would be good for someone with just a BA trying to get their first entry level uni position. |

Funny, 1.6 is rumored to be the going rate for illegal teachers. Wonder how they came up with that 1.6 number? Hmmmmmmmmm |
