I'm shopping around now for Univ. jobs, and was wondering if this ad is serious:

1.6 to teach Uni? Out in the countryside? Wouldn't only people with fake diplomas ever consider this? I got paid more when I was here the first time 9 years ago.

Its a Unigwon.

A hogwan but on a uni campus. You aren't (wouldn't be) teaching uni.

The basic salary is 1,600,000 won per month. However, the overtime pay is 22,000 won per hour and usually the total salary is 2.0- 2.5 million per month.

that would be a LOT of overtime in addition to the 18 hours basic. to get 2.0 you would have to work about 23-24 hours a week, which at unigwons is usually a horrible split shift. I agreed to take on overtime at my unigwon this month but i am on campus from 7:30am - 9:20pm 4 days a week to do it.

the 10 weeks vacation isnt too bad though. I think this position would be good for someone with just a BA trying to get their first entry level uni position.

Funny, 1.6 is rumored to be the going rate for illegal teachers. Wonder how they came up with that 1.6 number? Hmmmmmmmmm
