| Are these games in English or Japanese? Does the system only have Japanese language menus? |

What exactly does the Wii mod-chip do? I'm guessing it sorts out the region coding thingy, but what about Virtual Console? Has anyone got their modded Wii on the Nintendo network? If so, are all the channels in Japanese?
I went to Yongsan today, and got an offer of 400,000 won. This includes the mod chip, an extra set of Wiimote and nunchuk controllers, and Wii Sports. Seems like a reasonable offer to me, but until I know exactly what the mod chip does, I'm still reluctant to go Japanese. What do you guys think? |

| it depends which mod chip you get, im not sure which one they put in mine but i can play all regions of backup gamecube and wii games, but if you search the net for "wii key" that one is supposed to let you use homebrew stuff on your wii and emulators as well |

I got mine yesterday as a gift for my girlfriend. The chip that I got was a WiiKey. Apparently, according to the net, the chip doesn't modify the firmware or hardware, but rather the input from the DVD drive. I read that you can go on the network with it. However, because ours is in Japanese, I think that all of the menus and such for going online would be in Japanese as well.
But, Medal of Honor Vanguard kicks ass. That control scheme is so cool. |

Congratulations on your purchase Pligganease. Your gf must be very pleased! I was so close to buying one on Sunday too. One thing that stopped me was the fact that I have a really crap TV, so I guess that's first. Did you get a good price? Let us know how you get on with the network, especially Virtual Console. I don't really give a toss about the weather! |
